Hello good people of spellhold studios,

I am attempting my first install of BWP using the tactics (omitting many mods I consider needless). To my dismay, I find that the BWP installation, while convenient and automatic, does not allow me to choose individual components of mods to install or omit. For example, I would love the rebalanced magic items from Item Revisions but I want arcane casting in armor to work as per vanilla bg2. I also want only a few components from Tactics while omitting most of the other parts of the mod. Likewise I don't get to select the XP values for Ding0's Experience Fixer. Is there any way that I can choose the specifics for each mod? I'm certain this question has been asked and answered before, but hours of googling and searching these forums has yielded no answers aside from the hint that it has something to do with BiG World Install.bat. I have opened this file with a text editor, and to my non-coder eyes it is a thing of mystery and terror; no obvious route for achieving what I want is available.

So I ask of you helpful folk, what is the best way to achieve hand-selected components for a BWP install? Is modifying the .bat file feasible for someone with no experience in this sort of thing? Would it be possible via a manual install (and would doing so take many hours of my life). Is there a third, easier, method? Ideally I would like BWP to install as normal but pause during the install process and ask me about mod components one at a time, but I understand if BWP has no way to achieve this.

If there's no way to achieve this without many hours of laborious hand-editing or manual installing, is there at least documentation somewhere that lists what the default components BWP installs for each mod are so that I know exactly what I'm getting into and can avoid mods with components I dislike?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide (especially if I'm asking something that's been answered before!) and many thanks for helping to make BG1+2 into games well above and beyond their original forms.

You are not using the latest version of the Setup program, the BWSbeta. That's indirectly pointed in the Frequently Answered Questions for the Megamods topic, yeah, the one that's pinned for a reason.
I probably should rewrite the whole thread to point to that the beta is actually the current v10, but it'll slide for now, as the BWP v9.10 still used the v9...

Welp, I feel both catastrophically dumb for missing this and catastrophically relieved for knowing that there is an easy answer. Thanks =)
