Then it just seems to loop back to the trilogy prompt for the BG directory. Its happened several times, this is the third clean install I've run into this problem on. What am I doing wrong?

OS: Windows 7
GoG Version of BG, BG2

The file 25Movies.bif is missing in your game folder. Either you have not installed ToB or it was not copied from your DVD. Copy the file 25Movies.bif from the DVD from the folder ...\CD5\movies into the movies folder.

Nope I did this already, I read the GoG guide to installing BiG world and did everything it said to. I have F:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD5\Movies\25movies.bif

Maybe the pathname stored in the baldur.ini is not identical with your real pathname. That would happen if you had changed your folder name or pathname after installing or if you had copied your game folder to another disk.
Try to change the pathname inside baldur.ini or copy the 25Movies.bif into the data folder. However, if your real pathname doesn't fit to this one inside the baldur.ini you will get the same error with a lot of other files.
I always suggest to use the default directory "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" to avoid problems like this.

Ok I got it, I had to alter the baldur.ini

Had to add that at the end of CD5

HD0:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD2:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD3:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD4:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD5:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\;F:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD5\
CD6:=F:\Games\BGII - SoA\

Looks good so far ill let you know in a few hours
