I got a really weird issue when trying to install BGT-weidu V1.12. Basically, I followed the instruction, did a clean install for all the BG1 and BG2 games and patched accordingly. Then after copied weidu files into BG2 folder, I tried to run Setup-BGT.exe. But as soon as I got to the point choosing the language, I can't type anything in the window. So the installation stucks there. The following is the content of SETUP-BGT.DEBUG. Can anyone help me out? Thank you! I'm running Vista sp2 by the way.

E:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\Setup-BGT.exe

Installing and trying to mod the game in the "program files" folder can cause errors, especially with XP, Vista (which I see is your case) and 7.
Install it to a different directory, such as "E:\Games\...", and try again

Alright, figured it out myself. The solution was to use the automatic installation, so that no typing is needed. Still a weird problem though...

Could you please check if you have a weidu.log file in your game folder (there was a warning about that in your first .debug file), and post it, and also post your setup-bgt.debug file again?

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I'm having the exact same issues as the OP. FYI I'm using the GOG versions of BG1 and BGII. Just in case that could be the culprit.

I get to the language selection and I'm unable to type a number. Here's the debug:

...

You probably just have to activate the window again, so click on the window ... or push Alt -key continuously while pushing the Tab -key until the right window becomes active. Then let go of the Alt -key, push the number and Enter.

So I tried using a different version besides GOG (thinking maybe that was the problem) and I'm still unable to input a number in the BGT Setup.exe

No one has any idea whats going on? I would do the auto-installation, but I don't know how to.

Also for what it's worth, I was able to install TuTuGUI with no problem at all.

Ok sorry to keep bumping this thread, but I rebooted my computer and now I'm able to use the BGT Setup, but I have a new problem with the installation.

Nevermind figured it out. Sorry.

Yeah, running the file in the correct directory is a good way to try to archive what you want. As the provided translations are set in relation of the current folder.
So can you confirm that the only thing you needed to do is restart the computer in the above case where you couldn't type the language selection ?

I initially thought rebooting my computer was the problem, but as it turns out, using another mod (in my case Infinity Animations) prior to using WeiDu fixed the problem. No idea why, but it works!
