Which game is it?

A friend and I cannot remember in which IE-game the party encounter some sort of undead in a strange, circular dungeon level who is able to teleport the characters around at random, leaving them alone and facing other dangerous enemies. We are pretty sure it is not in BG or BG2 but where then? I hope the explanation makes sense
