The reason being that it keeps telling me is:
T O B - C H E C K
═════════════════
The file 25Movies.bif is missing in your BGII - SoA\CD5\movies directory.
This one is however absolutely necessary.
Please make sure that you have installed the extension ToB. If so,
copy this file from your DVD into the folder BGII - SoA\CD5\movies.
The BioWare Patch 26498 is not yet installed. Please install
this patch into your "BGII - SoA" folder.
Ive checked the file location, and edited the baldur.ini file. Ive also installed the patch. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the game, tried it all again, and the same problem occures. Can anyone help? I wouldnt mind playing this at some point soon! D:

it seems ok to me.Are you asking where im booting Big World Install.bat from?
May be you can try to change "CD5:=C:\BWS\BGII - SoA\;C:\BWS\BGII - SoA\CD5\" in "CD5:=C:\BWS\BGII - SoA\CD5\" but I am not sure that it will change something...
Yes, I want to be sure that you launch Big World Install.bat from C:\BWS\BGII - SoA\ (just a guess)

Well, you didn't give us the directory you ran the BiG World Install.bat in - it has to be in the Baldur's Gate II directory. Also, please tell us if you installed the GOG distrubuted version, or if you installed it from some other source.Still not working, even with the new GoG install.bat. I give up. F*** this mod.
(Also, try not to use explicit swearing on this forum. This is really supposted to be PG rated overall, and the guidlines say so as well.)

I don't know if this thread is still active but I'm getting the same problem. I've reinstalled several times (have original versions of game), tried editing baldur ini file as suggested in all threads I could find for fixing this problem but still no joy:(. My tour baldur ini. reads
[Alias]
HD0:=C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD1\
CD2:=C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\;C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\
CD3:=C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD3\
CD4:=C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD4\
CD5:=C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\
Has anyone got any other suggestions for what is going wrong and why it says it can't detect the 25movies.bif or TOB patch 26498 even though both are installed?
I'll keep trawling the forums for answers in the meantime and appreciate any replies to this
Cheers

I have tried to install this with the Big World Install.bat
I see on a few other topics that the BWS is gone temporarily ... but can be accessed in beta form on another site ??
So am I supposed to be using this beta BWS?
I have spent the past week trying to get this to work... what am I supposed to be doing?
Oh and if I'm not where I should be ... I am very sorry ... but I am getting the same problem of the ToB not being recognized.....
Please help.... anyone....

It is in the folder CD5 ... then the subfolder movies of my installation.
Is that where it's supposed to be?
And also ... I AM running the install.bat in the BGII directory. I followed the instructions from http://www.shsforums...newbies-and-up/
It installs the BW stuff fine. It doesn't ask me about BG1 at all or if it does it answers for me and goes by so fast I don't see it. And it won't install anything but the bare minimum because it says ToB is not installed.
So .... am I supposed to be using the BWS instead?

And is there a "trick" to changing it?

I think ....
:TOBCHECK
:NOTEST
:startTOB
%GOG% GOTO :TOOLCHCK
%.%
%.%
%IF% CD5\movies\25Movies.bif %IF% BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt GOTO :TOOLCHCK
So change this line %GOG% GOTO :TOOLCHCK to this GOTO :TOOLCHECK. ??
