Attached the Big World Debug... Followed the instructions for clean install of BG, TotSC, SoA and ToB, patched, moved the files for the mods in to the SoA folder then ran the install.bat.. Attempted to install by just clicking the install batch file in the SoA folder and also tried doing the cmd.exe (because I am on Vista) and both attempts failed the same way. Can anyone tell me what step I am missing? Maybe explain in more detail the steps to complete the mega mod install? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Please upload your baldur.ini. It sounds like the paths are screwy inside of it.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

Trying to attach Baldur.ini, but I am getting a message that 'you aren't permitted to upload this kind of file...

Is this what you need:

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD1\
CD2:=C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\;C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\
CD3:=C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD3\
CD4:=C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD4\
CD5:=C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\

Please note that BiG World Installpack\Ini_path.bat overwrites the values that may have been in there...
(Looks for HD0-entry and replaces that with the current BG2-path.)

THINK! - It's not illegal.

I'm not sure what that means. So are you saying perhaps my Big World Install is overwriting the Baldur.ini incorrectly? Thanks...

If the paths you posted are not correct, then it might be the case...

Disable the Call for that batch-file from within the BiG World Install.bat?

I'm just confused as to why BWP would not do this correctly on my install when it has worked for others?

I just told you guys that the batch does the replacement.
I don't know if it would have been wrong in you case.

The Debug just tells us Path not found - C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\data and you have to confirm if the path is wrong or right to begin with.

THINK! - It's not illegal.

the path is correct, but I think I see a problem. there is no \data folder in the BGII - SoA folder. The \data folders are all held within CD2 - CD5 folders. I started up a SOA and ToB game as per the directions and had no issues, but I find it strange that there should be a data folder within the unmodded BGII folder and yet there is not. I will have to look in to this further... Can anyone confirm if there should be a data folder outside of the CD folders?

Yes, in a normal full installation, you should have a data folder. Best solution is to uninstall the game and reinstall from scratch.

Have tried several times and still can't make it work... Hate feeling stupid, but I think I just have to admit that I am not cut out for manual mega mod installation (or even the 'easier' BWP installation). When I reinstalled the data folder was there, but I still can't get BWP to install properly. I have BGT, but when the install.bat runs every mod says it requires BGT to run and installs, then when it is done I can't even open ToB. Anyone know when Big World Setup will be back out? Just wondering because I know this stuff takes time and just don't think I can do the Mega Mod installation without it. I really prefer BGT over Tutu, but the only mod I was ever successful at installing (ie, was able to complete the game with it installed) was installing all the fix mods and then Easy Tutu...

Please elaborate on your issue. Please upload your baldur.ini, BiG World Debug.txt, and WeiDU.log files. Also, please tell us where you installed Baldur's Gate.

While I can't really read the BiG World Debug.txt right now, due to the fact that Android text readers suck, there are two main problems that you should address:

1. Your baldur.ini paths are still messed up. Try removing the "English\" part from all the paths and try starting Baldur's Gate again.
2. Your WeiDU.log appears trunchicated, as some mods that were installed (according to the BiG World Debug.txt) do not show up in the WeiDU.log.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

Checked quickly the debug files and it seems you tried to run the install.bat several times after the initial failure? If it fails once, you're good to start over afaik. Delete everything in the BG2 folder (except of course your downloaded mods if they're in a folder somewhere in there). Fresh reinstalls of BG2+ToB+patch 26498 (or whatever the number was). Make sure you have admin rights. And lastly check this guide if you haven't already.

Can't really tell why it failed initially though as I'm no modder or anything programming related.

EDIT!!! Disregard, saw the signature and downloaded accordingly... So many different places one must look to find all the information. I have to be honest though, does create a sense of accomplishment at even the small victories... BWP is running now so will see if it works this time... Thanks again to everyone for supporting my attempt at this mega mod install! Your time and direction are both appreciated!

Well I did a few things... I purchases the GOG version as my CD for BG1 had some bad scratching and was concerned that perhaps they just aren't copying all files. Then went through and actually did find that I had failed to download the Big World Trimpack so figured that may have caused an issue. So installed the GOG versions following the directions in the BWP v11 pdf and also utilizing the instructions from the post how to install BWP for newbies... However, now I get an issue where BWP doesn't know where to find BG1, so I type in C:\Games\Baldurs Gate and hit enter and it says BG1 - Patch - Check and at the bottom says please press enter, but each time I push enter the same screen comes up... The BWP pdf instructions say for GOG you do not have to ensure the directories match (ie. Baldur's Gate and BGII - SOA), but is that my problem? It doesn't seem so since it asked me for the directory... However, I can't get passed the loop in the install where the screen shows BG1 - Patch - Check... I am sorry for taking anyones time and I really do appreciate the responses, just trying to play my favorite all time game my favorite way, but nothing I am trying appears to be working... Big World Debug only has one line...

.\BiG World Installpack\English\strings.txt
1 file(s) copied.

I knew that fix was going to be helpful at some point. I think I'll edit the BWP guide to include a link to that.

Thank you again William, so far not seeing any errors in the install so I think either my disks were bad, the mod I missed was essential, or proabably both. We shall see if it all works out, but so far, so good. I feel a bit less stupid seeing as it appears I did things (mostly) right, but just didn't confirm the disks were getting all the files needed and installing correctly.
