So after many hours and stupid mistakes I finally got the installer to finish successfully and am able to play! I did get an error during install about NEJ though, and having just started a fresh game of BG it doesn't look like it was installed at all (Imoen doesn't have the charming rogue kit, and its not available to a new character.) I really don't feel confidant trying to get this one added on myself, I'm sure I'll break it somehow. Is there a method to just addon the NEJ to an existing install? From searching and skimming through it looks like most of the posts are outdated, or that the newest version of NEJ isn't compatible. Any advice on how to get this added? Or is there any way I could simply add on the Charming Rogue kit for Imoen?

I've never played NEJ and from what I understand it's just a port of IWD into BG2 (someone correct me on this :ermm: ) ?

Anyway I'm pretty sure you can't install it now on top of your current install.
You can get the Charming Rogue kit from BGTNEJ mod (available on SHS here) though it's not available for CHARNAME without some cheat/hack. No idea if you can install this one on top of BWP install without bugs.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in the IWD part of of, I'd just like to try out to new kits for Jaheira and Imoen, so that one you linked looks perfect. Still worried about trying to install it on top of my current install though, hopefully someone will have some experience with doing that.

Well since you managed to complete a bwp install, you can do it again if installing BGTNEJ after all is done messes everything up :P
That's probably what everyone will tell you  : Try it and reinstall with the desired mods in case of failure.

Charming Rogue is pretty cool btw, so much that it makes me dual Imoen only after Spellhold on some games. Priest of Sylvanus I'm not so sure what it does because other mods completly modify the spellbooks and I can't really find info about that kit anywhere

NeJ is basically a fan-prequel to IWD, not a IWD-in-BG2 mod (there's already one out there).

BTW, I would avoid the custom kits for Immy and Jaheria. Imoen's kit is *really* overpowered, stupidly so. Jahera's kit does not really fit her, and makes her the crossbow-firer, instead of the spellcasting tank she should be. My recommendation? Give Imoen either the Adventurer kit from Song and Silence, or the Swashbuckler vanilla kit (especialy good with Rogue Rebalancing), and don't bother kitting Jaheria, especially if you have Refinements installed and you want to keep her in Throne of Bhaal (it's a technical reason that can't be fixed)
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

Hey! Imoen should be overpowered for obvious reasons! my charming Imoen, leave her alone!
Never noticed that issue with Jaheira's kit, what is it? Is it related to polymorphing maybe? I've noticed some issues with those in my current install (which I reported a while ago and never got an answer about)
I play her as a fighter/druid tank anyway and never use the innates provided by the kit since I can't tell what they do.

Thanks for the correction on NEJ btw!

Yes, I do really love Immy too, but she's clearly described as a young girl friend with thief skills that was raised with you in the quiet town of Candlekeep. Look at that closely, and ask yourself, "why can she backstab"? She should not be able to do so as it completely conflicts with her background, which Charming Rogue does not address. Also, free spells as thief, yay.

Yea, Priest of Sylvanius [sic?] sucks. The technical issue that I mentioned before has to do with a general incompatibility with HLA Refinements and multi-class kitted characters. The issue is basically, when you get to select a HLA, the game crashes.

Thanks for the correction on NEJ btw!

You are welcome.

I think it fits her background actually but it's just a matter of opinion :P
Raised in Candlekeep among mages, learnt some tricks to avoid Winthrop and chores, whatever ^^ I like her that way and it kinda fits with NPC Project banter.
Just tried CLUA'ing Jaheira some xp so she could get HLAs and I didn't get a crash.
Anyway this thread has fulfilled its purpose, good luck to Melufa with a likely reinstall!

You missed out one one blistering sore in the kit - she should not be able to backstab because it conflicts with her background. She was raised by a mage mentor, not in the streets! If people really like the CR kit so much, then I'll just make a new version that cannot backstab, so everyone is happy.

Does Jaheria have a kit? The crash can be replicated as long as you meet the following conditions:

1. the_bigg's HLA Refinements is installed, or at least the "Revised HLAs" component.
2. You have a multi-class character with a custom kit (eg: PoS Jaheria)
3. The character is high-level enough to get HLAs.

And boom, you can crash the game by leveling up the character. This is why I only give multi-class characters that are only in BG1/SoA a custom kit.

I'd be fine with that! I never use backstab with her anyway, only as a ranged attacker and mage of course when dualled

I meet all these and was able to get 2 HLAs just fine

Well, the reason why I mentioned this was because of a post by "the_bigg":

The issue happens because the game cannot handle a kitted multiclass when the kit uses a custom HLA table. To solve this I would have to remove kit-specific HLAs, by which poine you could as well not install Refinements.

OTOH, I know it works for some people, so I guess you could try it for yourself with a quick test game and some CLUAing.

But I'm getting off topic, point is, I hope the reinstall goes sucessful.

Okay, leaving this topic as the question was answered a while ago.
I'll post my questions about this refinements issue in correct forum since I was unable to reproduce this crash with many combinations of multikitted chars

So it's not looking like I'm able to just install it on top of, getting errors. Oddly enough the only part of it giving me errors are the two custom kits. Both are giving similar errors:

ERROR: [BGTNeJ/misc/IMOEN10.cre] -> [override/IMOEN10.cre] Patching Failed (COPY) (Invalid_argument("Char.chr"))

ERROR: [BGTNeJ/jah/cre/VP_JAH10.CRE] -> [override/JAHEIR7.CRE] Patching Failed (COPY) (Invalid_argument("Char.chr"))

So guessing I should just do a full reinstall, but now I have a question. At what point should I install NEJ? When BWS gives me the error about installing and asks if I want to continue or provide the files, do I choose provide? Or should I wait until the actual install sometime?
