As this seems to be some mixture between a quest mod and an npc mod, I wonder if there would be any point in installing BTL if I am not planning to incorporate the new characters into my party? Can I solve their quests nevertheless?
Please don't get me wrong, I am totally convinced that those two are interesting NPCs worth to be taken along, but with so many NPCs out there in Amn, one has to set priorities.

In a word, no. The quests revolve around the two NPCs so you do need them.

Ok, I sort of guessed that. But actually, that's not the end of the world

It should be easy enough to fit Kiyone and Kova into a party. They're great assets, as Kiyone has good martial skills in addition to being an archer, and Kova being a M/T, well...'nuff said
