Hi,

I installed the component "Wall of Fire" from the spellpack mod and I dont like the component and I want to remove the spell. Uninstalling is out of question, it's a megamod.

I know you can edit the mage spell list with the help from TobEx so I edited the Hidespl.2da and add the spell "SPPR518" which is in this case the Wall of Fire spell. But it looks like it only works with mage spells.

I tried different things as well but nothing did work. And now I ask: Is it even possible to remove cleric spells from the spell selection or did I waste my time? If its possible, how can I do it?

Thanks in advance.

It's easier to remove the mod component from your BWS install list that the spell fro your already installed BWS game. But it can be done, via editing the spell.
Yep, that needs the DLTCEP.
You need to edit the .spl exclusion flags. So for example if you want to exclude the good aligned priest, you need to add a 1 to the bit formats 3rd digit...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

@The Imp

I wrote an longer answer to you but then my Pc decided to die so I lost the post and write you a short answer instead. First, thanks for your answer, unfortunately i am not familar with the programm you mentioned (I only have experience with NI so far, but im willing to learn) so prepare for stupid questions ;)

You say I have to edit the .spl exlucion flags. Does that mean I have to load the spell first and then modify it in the way you say? Or is this completely wrong and I have to do it different? I clicked on "Edit spell" and then on "load spell" then I chose "wall of fire" and now im helpless :)

Well, you can do this in NearInfinity too, in fact if you use the newest version, it will have all the Exclusion flags, (0-14) that you need, identified.
Anyways it doesn't matter which editor you use.
But at DLTCEP, the next thing you do is well go back... all the way to the start screen, in where you click the Setting button, and uncheck the Read Only -tag. :D Then you go back to the Edit-> Spells -> Load Spell, and pick up the wall of fire... and you'll see the "General properties" tab, in which has the "School exclusion" and under it should be
"0x0000-Unused" or something like that, to edit that you just switch that to
"0x0004-Exlude Good" to make it not appear for good cleric&priests ... or you can actually exclude it from all clerics and priests, paladins and rangers if you want, by manually editing the number to "0x003f-*" , in which the * doesn't actually matter, as only the numbers matters. Then you save the spell etc...

Hehe, I never bothered to download the newest version of Ni because I never needed it. Now I see what useful things they added to it. Thanks Imp I set the required flags and it works fine.
