Hello,

I have a question about the Big World Setup program.

I have been periodically downloading and saving what appear to be the most recent versions of BWS, so that I'd have the best, most up-to-date version available when I needed to do my next BG+BG2 install.  (Which is soon, I hope)

When I open the BWS download using 7zip, the files seem to have a recent date stamp, which indicates they are the most recent versions.  However, for quite some time, I've noticed that the contents of the changelog.txt file and the changelog-mods.txt file within BWS have not changed at all.

Is BWS actually being updated on a regular basis?  If so, is there a reason the changelog.txt and changelog-mods.txt files aren't similarly being updated to show what changes/fixes are being incorporated?

Thanks.

Well, to get a supplemental change log, look at this page... it's likely that the project keeper is just too busy to do an actual log, as the changes are just very minor ones most of the time. But there's like  ten of them per day... do you really want to read about all of them and thus have just say 3 ?

See this is a bitbucket project, it has the tool to enable constant updates and having such, it's change log file elsewhere is less maintainable. As it doesn't really need it, as there's consistent releases ...and it already has it's own variant.

Now if this was a BWP or a mod that has a release every ... year on average ... then the accuracy of the change log would be a concern.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Thanks for the quick explanation.

I am not very familiar with navigating BitBucket, so appreciate the link you provided to the "commits" page.

I've got that link saved now, so will be able to look there in the future whenever I'm curious.

Thanks again.
