Introduction

The official SHS Index of Mods has been completed. From now on, this will be the easiest way to browse and download SHS modding projects.

Since all eligible files have been transferred from our web server to GitHub, we are shutting down the download center on the forums, and the individual download pages will be hidden. Instead, we would like to focus our efforts on updating the repositories in our new GitHub organization.

Conveniently, you do not have to register on GitHub to download the files. All existing forum post attachments will remain available on the forums to registered members.

Excluded projects

Generally, the Index will not feature projects that belong to other active modding communities but had been mirrored in our download center. You may obtain the excluded files from their respective sources:

We will also discontinue hosting Oblivion mods, which will remain backed up in a private repository until their authors or maintainers respond to us.

External projects

These are modding projects that are still related to SHS, have their official forums here, but are now maintained outside of our GitHub organization. Such projects will remain listed on the Index with the External tag.

Miscellaneous projects

Modding projects that are currently without our official support. Most of these are from the download categories that used to be part of the free file hosting service provided by SHS in the past:

  • BG:EE Modding
  • IE Modding Tools
  • Miscellaneous Released Mods
  • Mod Resurrections

While many of these projects are not officially hosted as part of our GitHub organization, the files will remain available for download on the Index in the Miscellaneous section. Over time, some of these projects may be promoted to official repositories, provided they pass our review process, and the authors give their permission.

For private requests:

  • Send a private message to skellytz on the forums.

Your request will be processed as soon as we have verified you are the project's author or appointed maintainer.

Thank you for sorting all this in a nice manner, skellytz!

Now I am hoping to see some actual developments!

Looks neat!

The download centre had previous versions available for some mods — will those be ported to the new repository as well?

Thank you for much-needed comments!

The download centre had previous versions available for some mods — will those be ported to the new repository as well?

The official SHS mods have previous versions archived either as individual release tags (example) or bundled as assets in a backup release (example). The unofficial (or Miscellaneous) mods that don't have dedicated repositories are publicly available as direct downloads of the latest versions; but we've also archived the previous versions in private repositories in case they're needed.

As stated in the introduction, over time, some of the unofficial projects may be promoted to official repositories (along with the previous versions), provided they pass our review process, and the authors give their permission.
