I'm back, but I've got a new pet project. I don't know If I'll be getting back into BG2 MOD work. I lost ALOT of my work in a computer crash. I still have a few things, but the one I'm offering upto MOD designers is a nearly completely redone BG2 GUI interface.
One of the things that I managed to salave is my BG2 Skins - nearly the entire GUI infrastructure is redone in wood, marble and parchment. If you're interested (I have samples I can send prior to the whole thing) email me at Chevar@Yahoo.com

It takes me anywhere from 1 to 6 hours to skin a menu screen to my satisfaction. One like, and one not like isn't worth it.

If someone else wants to do an interface like you did, it will be a lot easier and faster to improve and fix what you've got already done, than to start from scratch altogether.
Just dump it in a zip file and host it for community use.
If there's one thing that sucks, it's redundant work.

Here is a test run of the start screen (I am posting it so you get a general idea of what I am planning):

Little hint for you."not exactly great" doesn't justify me wasting space ony my web page, and finding a packing utility for a buncha files that simply need to be tossed in an over-ride folder.
It takes me anywhere from 1 to 6 hours to skin a menu screen to my satisfaction. One like, and one not like isn't worth it.
Learn some patience, people come here to relax and mod for fun, not personal recogntion.
Give it a little time and your idea will garner more interest.

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?
Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.
Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

Thats..... interesting.
Are you planning on finishing it? It's not a bad idea at all, methinks.

Positive points: I really like the way you arranged the inventory screen and the greenery around the edges and wooden grain are a nice touch.
Negative points: The metallic look also seems to clash with the start screen and the background for the paperdolls are blurry and somewhat ugly.
Iffy: I don't like the "Brotherhood of the Rose" writting on the top, but that could be easily overlooked. I'm not too sure what I think about the pentagram either but these might be fitting to that particular TC. For vanilla BG, removing/replacing these 2 elements might make these screens much more appealing for me, IMHO.
Well, keep up the good work! Interface screens are something not many people are doing and its nice to see someone wanting to mod this aspect of the game.

Keep me updated. That's something i'd be willing to a) play around with (i.e. try to improve it) and B) play with.Of course. Are you planning on finishing it? It's not a bad idea at all, methinks.

I've never really liked BG2's brown-in-brown interface.

If I can track down a new copy of a MOS editor, and MOD packing utility, I'd be stipping a few things out of the screens (the BOR logo, and symbol in particular)..
I should clairify.. I have limited space on my free webpage. If there's not much interest in the GUI skin set I'm not going to make it available. I have plenty of other projects I can dedicate webspace to.

As for the GUI skin itself, I think it shows promise. Please don't take this the wrong way, but everything can be retouched, reworked, polished and improved upon ; this is in no way lamentable. It is simply a fact, and even a strength of the creative process.
It is quite possible that through further work, your composition will achieve greater recognition (as you seem to want.) I think it is too early to say, even now.

Well, that took about 3 hours to set up.. It's Geocities, so it sometimes takes a few tries before the server is nice enough to send it.. but it's there now
The gui things online for now..
darned thing's sucking up more than 1/3 of my total available webspace.

I'm starting to regret asking.. This honestly is about web page utilization, not recognition. Sheesh!
Love the attitude dude. Bitterness is so attractive these days. How's it working out for you?

If space is that much of a problem, why not find someone with the resources and willingness to host it for you?I'm starting to regret asking.. This honestly is about web page utilization, not recognition. Sheesh! It's technically an incomplete work as it is.. I'll split it into two zip files which will BOTH have to be decompressed into the overrides directory. I haven't made the adjustments I planned to make prior to a formal release. If anyone wants to futz with it feel free. I'll keep it online until I need the space (a little over 6meg) for something else.
