Hi All:

I finally determined what was wrong with my megamod game. Both computers are OK, but both games are faulty. Baldur's Gate plays OK with only minor problems. Both moved over into BGII - SoA without any problems. The fatal crash occurs when you move to the second floor and meet Yoshimo. No matter what you do with Yoshimo the game crashes when Yoshimo joins or is not allowed to join. The game freezes until you press a key and the screen goes black. You get the message:

Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn = Throne of Bhaal has

stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Windows will close the program and notify you is a solution

is available.

If anyone has played through Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn, I would appreciate you posting a list of the mods you used. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would also be appreciated.

Hi All:

Busy getting my second game working. Based on SCS and finally worked, but I do not how far it will go.

Back to Improved Asylum. The author is "Rastor". The current version I have is v101 from 4/6/2013. The oldest version I have is v0.92 from October 2004.

Best to try and contact "Rastor". Maybe he will load it to SHS or some other sight. Maybe some lawyer can tell us when the copyrights expire. If the copyrights are expired, it is possible that we would be able to post old mods in forums. That is my guess.

I lost a lot of old mods through computer crashes and would like a legal way to get them again.

Here is the WeiDU.log of the game I am currently playing.

The game installs using a modified individual.bat.

During the installation, when selections need to be chosen, I choose Big Picture over Sword Coast Stratagems where ever possible.

I try to follow mods from BiG World Project WeiDU.Log. Some mod versions in BiG world Project and not consistent between The BiG World Installation Instructions and BiG World Project WeiDU.Log.

My mod selections I chose are based on the mods I have. I skip many NPCs.

I prefer Courier New font.

I am about 50% through Baldur's Gate without any problems except game speed.

Hi All:

I used my existing megamod game to create a BGII - SoA game. No luck as it crashed right after Yoshimo joins the game which is the same problem as above. So I have a mod that plays Baldur's Gate well, but not the BG2 section of a BGT game. I guess my BGT days are over.

If I had to guess what the problem is, I would guess a BG2 mod was made or grossly edited on a Windows 10 computer and it does not like Windows 7. Microsoft's way of forcing people to buy Windows 10. But this is just a guess. There are some new mods that I never used before so I do not know which could be the problem.

So my Baldur Bade days are over until Leonardo issues a new version or someone else discovers a fix. I asked my wife if it was OK if I bought a new Windows 10 computer and she said sure. But I do not feel comfortable spending money without knowing that will fix the problem.

I would like to thank all the people who helped me with past problems. I could not get as far as I did without their help. If you check back to post #164, the spoiler contains the latest mods from the BG1 section. It plays well and should give only minor language problems.

I have several versions of the old game saved. However I decided to try one last time. I made a new version of individual.bat as it looked like there were some typos I did not catch in the previous one. It is loading now and it should be ready by midnight. I should be able to change the duegar Animation before I start the game in the AM.

I figured CTD means crash to desk. I could not find the meaning of IA.

Hi All:

The game where I used BP for the AI has totally crashed. I went back to the game that uses SCS for the AI. Both games have similar problems.

1) Crash when you meet Yoshimo. EvilMax has the solution.

2) Jaheira does not return after leaving with Meronia.

3) I cannot locate the cave near Arlax to get Drizzt's buddy (sorry I cannot remember his name).

4) I crash when I am going down the stairs after talking to Sassar in the Unseeing Eye.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

I just lost all. My BGConfig lost all the setups and everything is blank. I have lots of saved games so I will see if one will work. But the reality is lost 6 weeks of game. Now to start again.

Hi all:

I finally got my game (actually games) going. There are lots of people to thank. Especially Leonardo for his hard work on BWP and helping us all with our questions. DivideBy0 for the addresses of the mods. I believe a lot of my problems were do to using incorrect spelling of a mod. Using the correct mod names made the mods install correctly. kampfloloss for leading me to delete the "temp" file. The Imp for helping me with my not so smart questions.

I have two games going. They are almost identical except one has Vlad's Compilation and Never Ending Journey 3. Both have about 250 mods. I am only in CandleKeep and going through the chores. Better than I have done in a long time.

Oh well, my typos got me again. Started having troubles. I did search the individual.bat four times before I started the games, but that was not enough. I found another typo. I guess I should be thankful it was easy to find.

Hi All:

I had three games fail. The installation goes very well. The problem is that I can start the game, but I cannot save the game. I do not know how far I could proceed without saving the game. Any suggestions?

I did have a problem with aTweaks v453. The windows version had some malware and caused crashes when I tried to make another game. I think Microsoft Security Essentials got rid of the malware because I can now download the windows version of aTweaks v453 which I could not do when it had the malware. I am now using the platform independent version and it loaded aTweaks 453 in the last game.

Even with the good version of aTweaks 453, I cannot save the game. I have 245 mods in my megamod game and all but five do not install.

I have temporary stopped creating a new megamod game because I am waiting for Microsoft to call and fix my two computers. This gave me time to look through mods and other BWP stuff.

I found this:

:PREVIEW

SET EINST=".\%BWIPS%\preview.bat" Translates to: ".\BiG World Installpack\source\preview.bat"

SET EINSTI=".\%BWIPS%\preview.bat" Translates to: ".\BiG World Installpack\source\preview.bat"

It appears that %EINST% and %EINSTI% perform the same function. Therefore I will ignore the fact they look different but probably perform the same function.

When I went to download Unfinished Business v27rc1, the file was not available. In its place, was Unfinished Business v27. This does not install with BiG World Installpack c18.2.1. Is Unfinished Business v27rc1 still available. If not, can I alter BiG World Installpack.bat to install Unfinished Business v27.

Some suggestions with getting the 'preview' ( [1] Display the preview? (strongly recommended) and a typo in 'individual.bat'.

Place a PAUSE statement before the line 'Call ".\%BWIPI%\close1.bat' in individual.bat and your preview will pause after Section 20. Gives you time to examine the preview for errors.

In Section 18 find the following:

Thanks for the update to 18.2. I know it takes a lot of work to make BWP and I really appreciate your efforts.

I have one problem. I have a Windows 7 64bit computer. I create my megamod game following the WeiDU.Log in BiG World Project 18.2 ENGLISH.pdf. A great help. My problem is I am confused about which version of Stratagems to use. I have read the instructions in BWP about Stratagems v32.4 and Stratagems v31 and I am confused. In the WeiDU.Log it lists a component 1000 for Stratagems, but there is no component 1000 in Stratagems 32.4. So should I use Stratagems 31 for my 64 bit computer?

If you could also list the choices you use BiG World Install.bat, it would be greatly appreciated.

I greatly appreciate your help. I just found another typo in individual.bat in v18.2.3. The 'wheels' line is only a marker to where the error is. There is one "(" and two ")" in the section that installs Tactics #0.

Hi All:

After 4 days, Microsoft technicians were unable to install my Windows 7 updates so I could finish loading Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Their final advice was to reinstall it again.

I looked through BWP. The only comments about using Windows 10 for a BGT game warned that Windows 10 may have game compatibility problems.

If you used Windows 10 for BGT games, does it work? Any problems with some mods? I have real problems because my computer only works with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

I would greatly appreciate any comments about Windows 10 and BGT games.

I guess the only thing to try is a reinstall with multiple Windows 7 disks, both 64 bit and 32 bit and see if any work.

Your response was terrific. I had B!Tweaks Full Mod many years ago, but due to computer crashes I lost a lot of files. I still have some 5 1/2 floppies and 3.5 disks. I had USB drives for both, but have trouble finding them. If I do find B!Tweaks Full Mod, I will try to get the author to post them again.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am temporarily busy reinstalling Windows 7 on the computer Wordperfect 12 messed up. I happened before and Corel supplied a fix. This time they insist I buy v9x.

I did use UnfinishedBusiness-27.zip and tried UnfinishedBusiness-26.zip and both failed in BWP. I will try the suggestions you both posted. I expect it will take me at least 12 hours to start a new game.

Anyone have suggestions for a keyboard with lit keys? After the eyes operation, I need to have a lit room to see the keys. The bright light hurts my eyes and the dim light makes it difficult to see the keys. I prefer a wireless keyboard with a mouse.

Life is miserable. Probably because I make a lot of mistakes with an very old brain.

Tried to install two games yesterday. Only changed one mod in one and only changed one component in the other. They were based on a megamod game that installed and worked. Both failed.

Looking for Unfinished Business for BGII v27rc1. The author already erased it and replaced it with v27 which I have but does not work. If these authors would keep the last 2 or 3 versions they posted around so they could be used with other mods, it would make like wonderful.

Some how my version of Wordperfect 12 got corrupted. Coral hides files in your computer with your data. Called Coral and they game me lots of garbage. I was supposed to get a email in 30 minutes with a way to remove the secret files. Well it has been three hours and no email. If any one knows the way to strip a computer of all Wordperfect 12 files I would appreciate that.

Hi All:

I think I am getting dementia as I am having memory problems. But, this morning I did remember something I did with Widescreen Mod that allows you to get the perfect game picture. If after you install your game and the screen picture is too large or too small, you can change the size. For example. I used Widescreen to make my game picture 1600x900 pixels. I thought that made everything too small. So I opened 'setup-widescreen.exe'. There I could remove the 1600x900 pixel screen and reinstall a 1280x720 pixel screen. Yes, it took about 30 minutes. But nothing else can do that. And you can do it as often as you want. It is simple to do and nothing in the game gets messed up. So like The Imp, I also advise every one to use Widescreen.
