Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 28 May 2007 - 01:23 AM in Oblivion Screenshots

I absolutely love the idea of themed threads, personally, I can't contribute to this one.. I've never actually gotten that far into the main quest ^^;;

I'm not so fond of the OB main quest :< But.. I do love the SI one, of course =P

#309440 Texturing help with Gimp

Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 30 May 2007 - 03:29 AM in Elder Scrolls Series

whaaa? *blinks*

Personally.. I've never had problems with GIMP and mipmaps O_o

Basically.. the trick to mipmaps in GIMP.. is to flatten the image before saving as a dds. Then using "Generate Mipmaps" works like a dream, for me, when I use GIMP =)

#309562 Texturing help with Gimp

Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 30 May 2007 - 08:22 AM in Elder Scrolls Series

I know what the problem with that one is =)
the texture's alpha channel is.. not being saved, for some reason :<

Its not a problem with the mipmaps at all =/

Did you fill in the, um, transparent bits with black, btw? =) That's the only thing I could think of to cause it..

#310297 Texturing help with Gimp

Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 01 June 2007 - 03:54 AM in Elder Scrolls Series

that's.. really, really weird O_o

Mind you, I've never used GIMP for something with alpha channels. but.. still.. that's very, very odd O_o

#291539 Shivering Isles

Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 11 April 2007 - 03:10 AM in Elder Scrolls Series

Hi all, as a lot of you probably agree, vanilla Oblivion was.. rather lackluster.
And, I'd say most thought Bethesda had basically lost its touch. (I know I certainly did..)

Well, after playing Shivering Isles, I can honestly tell you, they haven't. It was brilliant, and I loved every second of it. =) The landscape is well thought out.. The npcs aren't generic, they have personality! Shivering Isles, imo, is brilliant, I'd recommend it to anyone.

#291734 Shivering Isles

Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 12 April 2007 - 03:16 AM in Elder Scrolls Series

its true! =) It is great, yeah, I've not done anything wrong, as yet, but, it does speak of that =) (Just don't attack Sheogorath >.>)

EDIT: Well, at least it suits the isles, I dare say ;)

EDIT2: Also, its not so much a prison, as a dungeon. =) *shrugs*

#291730 Shivering Isles

#305762 Shadow Lord Armour

Posted by Kaelis Ebonrai on 21 May 2007 - 12:14 AM in Oblivion Modding Discussion

There was once a game.. and it contained a group of temple guards.. called Ordinators.. and all was Good. The armour was seen as cool, and all was well with the world..

A modder retextured the armour, and made it Evil. And the world was thrown into chaos. The Indoril armour.. became the Shadow Lord's armour.

The armour was popular.. but it disappeared, after a time. A long, long time later.. It reappeared, and a young modder, grabbed it, for he had been looking for it, for some time.

The modder left the community, his life taking him elsewhere.. and the Sequel to the Game, was released.

Sadly, it lacked the guards, that were so.. cool.

Time passed... the modder returned... things happened.. but all in all.. there was a WIP project.. to bring back that armour.. The Ordinators of old.. The young modder, having grown up a bit, since then.. but still remembering his time in the first game's community.. though.. "I'd like to recreate the shadow lord armour, using this.." And, he waited.. and waited... the WIP mod.. looked like it'd never be released. So, he went to the creator of the meshes and textures.. and asked him if he could release a resource.. the creator agreed, but, had lost the files.. so.. he sought to regain them. Things happened.. time passed again..

Not too long ago.. a version of the mod had been released..

Sadly, it was not a resource, as the young modder had hoped... So, he asked the creator for permission, again, and, asked if the young modder could release /his/ version as a resource... The modder was asked a few questions.. but.. eventually was allowed to... So, from there.. the modder spent an entire day retexutring the armour.. recreating, to a degree, the Shadow Lord armour of old.

-----

I am the young modder.

And... here are some piccies.

Nice stuff floyd.

May I make a suggestion, however, that we could get one of the screenie thread new thread makers, to create a thread in the Screenshots forum, within the Oblivion Modding Workshop.

The forum is this one: http://www.shsforums...p?showforum=446
I've not created the thread, because I don't want to step on the toes of the mini-community. =)

Welcome, and thanks for joining!
