#272173 DEFJAM - Ding0 Experience Fixer

Posted by m5000 on 30 November 2006 - 05:14 AM in IE Help

can this patch be applied multiple times during one game without messing things up - i mean i first chose e.g. 50% creature XP, play a bit, change my mind, and can i now choose e.g. the 75% and still continue the same game without problems?

i was wondering if people are actually using the DEFJAM mod, and if so what XP setting would you suggest? (assuming there is a mega install)

cheers

#272127 reign of terror vs region of terror

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 11:41 PM in Mega Mod Help

are they two different mods? or there's just one and someone has made a mistake, a typo

in this installation order:

0. Full BGII SOA+TOB+26498 patch (and BG1+ToTSC+5512 patch or BG Original Saga if installing BGT)
1. BG2 fixpack v1
2. NEJ2v42 + NEJ2v602 patch, and NEJ2 biffer v3 if using BP-weidu (but see *note)
3. SoS v1.11 and/or TDD v1.11 and/or CtB v1.8 and/or Tortured Souls for BP v6.09 and/or Reign of Terror v2.0 - in any order (but note: NEJ2 and CtB have some incompatibilities. be sure you want to install both of these before you go ahead and do so)
4. Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.02 (read the instructions in readme file before installing) and NeJ2-BGT compat patch if using both NEJ2 and BGT
5. Dark Side of the Sword Coast v1.85
6. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45
7. Secret of Bonehill v2.05

8. All other mods, except the ones on this list (they should go after Big Picture v177)

9. Big Picture v177
10. BG2 Tweaks v3
11. DEFJAM XP fixer v3
12. BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

it says 'Reign of Terror", but the link actually directs you to download "Region of Terror"

cheers

#272125 CTB v1.8 XP cap load bug

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 11:13 PM in Check the Bodies

Or, use this handy little patch that Yacomo made. (can we sticky this somewhere, because i dont know if this mod is on any mirrors..)

when i'm using BGT and installing mods in this order:

6. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45
7. Secret of Bonehill v2.05

8. All other mods, except the ones on this list (they should go after Big Picture v177)

9. Big Picture v177
10. BG2 Tweaks v3
11. DEFJAM XP fixer v3
12. BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

is there a particular place in the list where the cap patch should be applied or it doesn't matter?

regards

#272124 mod installation - a question

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 10:45 PM in Mega Mod Help

is chores the same as 'The "tutorial" area of Candlekeep' mentioned in the mod readme?

#272121 chores - a question

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 10:30 PM in Check the Bodies

one silly question - when do i start the chores component? if i start the game from the beginning and have BGT, will i start the chores at the very beginning of the game when i'm inexperienced in Candlekeep, or when i have killed sarevok and i'am starting SoA?

thanls for the answer

by the way - what are these chores, could you give 1-2 examples? some people say they very boring and it doesn't make sense installing them

#272078 TDD vs RoT character kits

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 02:43 PM in IE Help

could someone briefly describe main differences and characteristics of these 2 kits, i've been looking for some info but can't find any, i'd like to know something about them to decide whether or not install any extra kits and if so which ones - TDD or RoT?

regards

i actually checked these two mods by myself installing them one by one, and compared the kits, which makes this post useless, could the moderator delete it, please

#272051 mod installation - a question

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 11:05 AM in Mega Mod Help

fair enough

but there is still this Chores_for_G3FixPack_Fix i'm supposied to install if i'm using G3 FixPack

so, shall i copy the contents of Ctbv1.8 into BGII folder and then copy the conents of this Chores_for_G3FixPack_Fix (i think they will overwrite some of the Ctbv1.8 files), and then install?

---

by the way, is G3 FixPack the same as the latest BG2 Fixpack by the Gibberlings three, becasue i have the latter?

by Chores v2.0 do you mean the fix that is avaulable here? ---> http://www.shsforums...showtopic=21673

no, CtB Chores v2 can be downloaded here. the Chores FastForward can be downloaded here.

as i understand it, Chores v2 makes the first part of CtB - the chores part - playable; Chores FastForward allows you to skip the chores entirely.

i don't really want to install Chores FastForward, but i have now the following files: CtBv1.8, CtBXPFix (has to do with experience cap), Setup-CtB-Chores (Chores v2?), and Chores_for_G3FixPack_Fix (has to do with G3 FixPack)

i'm a bit confused, could someone suggest the right installation order?

-------------------
in Setup-CtB-Chores there is this file: Setup-CtB-Chores.tp2, but the same file seems to be in CtBv1.8 - inside there are Ctb folder, Setup-Ctb.exe, Setup-Ctb.tp2, AND Setup-CtB-Chores.tp2.

#271991 mod installation - a question

Posted by m5000 on 29 November 2006 - 02:44 AM in Mega Mod Help

ok, i've compiled a list of mods i'd like to install:

1. BG2 fixpack v1
2. SoS v1.11
3. TDD v1.11
4. CtB v1.8
5. Tortured Souls for BP v6.09
6. Reign of Terror v2.0
7. Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.02
8. Dark Side of the Sword Coast v1.85
9. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45
10. Secret of Bonehill v2.05
11. Big Picture v177
12. BG2 Tweaks v3
13. DEFJAM XP fixer v3
14. BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

could someone perhaps suggest other decent mods that were compatible with the list, safe to install and where to put them in the list? i don't want to install tons of mods, but maybe there are a few others worth installing improving the game and adding new stuff, especially on BG1 map

regards

do all the mods listed there go into the BG2 folder, or are there any that should go into BG1?

#271926 i'm slightly overwhelmed - help

Posted by m5000 on 28 November 2006 - 08:12 PM in Mega Mod Help

i'm totally green as far as BG mods are concerned, and a bit overwhelmed, could someone please explain to me in simple language what to do to have soem of the mods working? (i would like to have BGT, some fixes if possible, and all or most of these big mods)

i have now prepared Full BGII SOA+TOB+26498 patch and BG1+ToTSC+5512, is it enough to download/install mods according to the sticky list? will they work with one another all right? or perhaps do i need some kind of extra editor which can be downloaded somewhere to put the mods in order/fix something/edit something?

help :(
