An update - call it "kreso's random ramblings about mods" :P and BW in general.
 
- The Bigg Tweaks - 3rd editon style stats. Unless you're willing to spend an afternoon removing extra unwanted saves which are applied via a spell which is applied numerous times on the same character (and it shouldn't be), I'd skip this. Don't be surprised if Viconia has a -10 save vs spells at level 9. :huh:

I'm particularly worried by this one, since I installed it and I am already well ahead in BG1.
Can you detail a bit better what is the problem and how it can be fixed (without reinstalling)?
Besides,is it true that these component also break saving throws progression for multi class and dual class characters?

There is a problem installing Item Revisions main component with BGT: weapons do not shatter as they should in BG1 part of game.

 

Item revisions overwrites items and does not include the shatttering effect added by BGT.

 

In fact, characters have active scripts to make weapons shatter, but without the effect associated to each item, weapons cannot shatter.

 

Maybe someone (Lollorian??) can make a code correction to item revisions in order to include BGT shattering effect. 

 

Or you could, you know, report this to the mod authors.  In this case, it's something we're aware of and a fix has already been coded for the next version of the mod.  If you don't want to wait, this is the code we will be using.

 

Thank you! I suppose I can just make a .tp2 file with this code and run Weidu, right?

Hello, I'm using BWS for a customized Big World install, I selected IMproved Ilyich from Tactics and had no warnings about incompatibilities, now I am at the half of the install and read on BWP manual that Improved Ilyich is incompatible with BGT.

 

Do you know if the incompatibilty has been solved by latest BWS (so it was not signalled) or if it's still there, and if it is game-breaking.

 

I would like not to have to re-start the installation from the beginning.

I have read on the BGEE forum that kits are not compatible with version 1.2 (see post below), is that still true?

Well, the normal kits are not compatible, except the BGEE compatible ones... they shouldn't cause the error, but one never knows.

What worries me about the above uploaded file is that this:

Setup-bgeegraphics.exe --no-exit-pause --noautoupdate --language 0 --skip-at-view --quick-log --force-install-list 0 --logapp

Failed to install multiple times, I suspect the fact is that there was no provided options given to the "four optional question" in the times. It was last fixed by non direct BWS install... by the looks of it in the log file.

 

Yes, it failed to install with BWS, probably because I didn't turn down the UAC in Windows 7.

 

Anyways, I discovered that kits were causing the errors! It seems that, up to now, there are no kits compatible with last version of BGEE.

 

After I unistalled some of them, the game started with some errors, but the remaining installed kits were not selectable.

 

So, to make it short, DO NOT install kits with latest BGEE version.

Hmm, if you don't mind, open the game directory and then open the SETUP-BGEEGRAPHICS.debug -file with Notepad and copy paste the text to a post that contains these:

I am looking for a specific thing and hopefully will see..

 

The text is too long, the forum does not let me post it. Can't I attach the file?

Total failure, I installed BWS compilation for BGEE (custom mods selection, see Weidu.log at the end of the post), on a STEAM game and biffing everything at the end.

When I try to start the game I get a lot of error messages and at the end the application crashes back to Desktop.

 

Some examples of the error messages I get:

- [Syntax Error] Invalid syntax starting '!SUNSOUL string, TIGER string, W_PSIONIK string,....

- .\sql_compiler.c[815]: [Not Exists] Table 'WEAPPROF' does not exist

- .\sql_compiler.c[815]: [Not Exists] Table '25STWEAP' does not exist

- .\sql_compiler.c[515]: [Overflow] Can't add column 'W_PSIONIK60'. Too many columns on table 'THIEFSCL'

- .\sql_compiler.c[743]: [Not Exists] There is no table 'E' in the db

- .\sql_compiler.c[743]: [Not Exists] There is no table 'A' in the db

 

Last error before crashing:

- .\sql_compiler.c[566]: [Overflow] Can't add table: Number of Tables[256] greater or equal to the maximum number [256].

 

Please not that I did not have relevant errors during installation.

Sorry, it was a stupid mistake... I was selecting the Big World Setup.au3 from an older version of BWS!

Can't confirm that. What did you do until you reach the selection tree?

 

Started AutoIt3, selected Big World Setup.au3, the program automatically detects BGEE, but when I select any kind of installation compilation (recomended, tactical, etc.) I cannot find the mods mentioned above. 

For example, I think Drittz Saga should appear in the Big Mods, but it's not there neither in another category of the tree.

 

Did I do something wrong?

Fixed:
  • Type of some components that cause crash in BG2EE selection

 

Thank you, but I tried a selection of mods for BGEE and neither Drittz Saga nor Sirine Call appear in the selection tree, even if they are included in the Config files, such as Mod.ini, Weidu.in, etc. (maybe there is the same problem also for other mods). 

 

Besides, I suggest to include Vynd NPC and BG Mini Quests and Encounters (beta), from Gibberlings Three.

Does the setup for BGEE and BG2EE include all the up to date mods for these games? (e.g.  Drittz saga and Lure of Sirine Call have been recently made compatible for BGEE)

As you can see here: Config/BGEE/Mod.ini the answer is yes.

 

OK for Drittz Saga, but it seems other mods have been made compatible recently, see the forum here below:

I will try to install them on the bottom of the BWS, and see if everything works fine.

I need a clarification, in the guide it says (for example) that the smarter beholders component of SCS shall not be installed with same component of BP, and that "generic creature and script processing" of BP cannot be installed with SCS AI.

 

But in fact from the sequence of installation in the guide (and from the weidu.log at the end) those components are installed togheter.

 

So, what is the right thing to do?
