Search in the right thread and you will find the solution. :D

Edit the BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini.
Search for the section [Faults] and just remove the BWS-URLUpdate.exe=1111111 -entry from the file.

You should be able to continue with the BWS after that from the point you left.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Anyone been to G3?? ^_^ Its christmas all over!!! :D

But I have to ask, BG2Tweaks, SCSII, Amber AND Spell Revisions (all the newly updated mods) are patched by the BWP Fixpack. Do the new versions include the fixes in the fixpack (so can we delete them??)

Cause if they do it by some other workaround other than the Fixpack versions ... well, we'll be screwed

EDIT: Oh oh :o I foresee a LOT of unintended installs (not to mention complete failures as well), I just checked the component numbers for SCSII and Spell_rev, and they've all been OVERHAULED!!!

Unless the install.bat is edited to take these new component numbers into account, everything's gonna go kaput if you try to use the new versions

Eg, for spell_rev, the SCS Fiends hotfix is removed and the Cure Sleep Fix is now #40 (was #2) ... and scsii gets a LOT more complicated

Fortunately, BG2_Tweaks and Amber aren't affected (but dunno about the Fixpack's patches though )

Cheers,
Lol

Indeed.

The new versions of SR and BG2 Tweaks should include what was in the BW Fixpack and then some, so trying to "fix" the new versions could seriously screw up the mods. As for the other mods, I couldn't say, but I'd still recommend avoiding any fixes to updated mods until the BW Fixpack authors take a look at them.

EDIT: Oh oh :o I foresee a LOT of unintended installs (not to mention complete failures as well), I just checked the component numbers for SCSII and Spell_rev, and they've all been OVERHAULED!!!

Many different parts of the BWP may need to be updated to account for new mod versions - links to the files in the linklist/BWS, component numbers in .bat installers, descriptions of the components in the .pdf, and fixes in the BW Fixpack.

I will be removing the SRv2.9 package from my web server in about a day or so as the old version will no longer be officially supported, so hopefully the updates will come quickly.

Would that be the reason why I'm sitting 2 days straight trying to install bwp 8.0 while pulling hairs from my head duo to frustration ? :)

I have a couple of questions. I had problems with song list overload in my bg2 only install. The problems i did not have while installing the full bgt and 10 times the number of mods with bwp 7.0. From reading the forums i figured out it was Tashia,Chloe,Saerileth,CTB and maybe something else. I have managed to modify Saerileth's tp2 , kicked out Chloe. How would i go about modifying CTB and Tashia ? Their tp2 has so much stuff in the music section I don't understand that I'm afraid to touch it not to mention is there a need to modify them nowadays ? This is just a theoretical question since i did not manage a single working installation in the past 9 try.

PS: If i manage to install it this time could anyone check my waidu log for any problems regarding fixpack, I would be much appreciative.

Edit: The 10th install is busted , i managed to create a character but not enter the game. Could someone make a guide what to throw out of BiG World Fixpack directory ?

Edit2: Is there no way of making a working installation ? What if i used BWS but without doing the download links fix , would that work ?

Ok, with regards to component numbers, here's what's changed in spell_rev:

Old Components:
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #0 // Spell Revisions: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #1 // Cure Sleep Fix: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #2 // SCS II Fiends Hotfix: v3
New Components:
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #0 // Spell Revisions: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #10 // Deva and Planetar Animations: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #20 // Mirror Image Fix: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #30 // Dispel Magic Fix: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #40 // Cure Sleep Fix: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #50 // Remove Disabled Spells from Spell Selection Screens: v3
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #60 // Update Spellbooks of Joinable NPCs: v3

So, only changes (as I mentioned before) are that the SCS II Fiends Hotfix is now deprecated and the Cure Sleep Fix is now #40. #10, 20, 30, 50, 60 are all new components and won't be installed through BWP8

Cheers,
Lol

Okay so I tried to do a new BWP install and I got totally different errors from the previous installations and I don't understand the reasons. Multiple components did not install correctly from SCS

Here is an example of an error:

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'

Stopping installation because of error.

Edit: I started a new install and this problem didn't appear again. It seems like it was a random error.

It worked :) Changed the .bat when running (after the prompt for the select your language etc).

I'm now in Naskel mines, and boy does it stutter... Any suggestions other than the ones described in a post somewhere here (can't be bothered to look it up now, sorry)?

Thanks again for all the continuous support guys!

Went for a new install, seeing as none of the proposed fixes cured the problem. However, even when in Candlekeep with the new install, the game's already showing signs of stutter.

So! Seeing as I need to do a reinstall anyway to include 1PP (here), I just reverted the install to my backup using BWS.

Imagine my surprise when visiting this thread and seeing that the BWS is rather bust at the moment, if I am to understand the situation correctly.

What would you, the collective geniuses of SHS, suggest I do? Wait for the BWS to get an update? Or, if you'd think that I'd be able to pull off extensive .bat editing and such, could anyone (*cough cough*eg Lollorian) give me a step by step, day by day walkthrough?

For your examination enjoyment, a weidu.log of my last install (which still stuttered). I'm planning to exclude any romance mods, see where that leads us framerate-wise. Any suggestions about lag-inducing components that could be removed are more than welcome ;)

The german BWP thread has Leonardo Watson saying that v8.1 (not the current v8.01) is ready and only needs an update from SCS to be released to the public (otherwise, they'll have to release a v8.11 when SCSv10 gets released :P)

And then there's the question of the BWPFixpack overwriting the changes to the new (not-so-buggy) versions cause the Fixpack was written for the old (buggy) versions. I saw that SR and BG2Tweaks have incorporated everything, but the Amber mod still needs the Fixpack  Was afraid to check the HUGE scsII changes ...

Well, like you said, I have a heavily modified install.bat with me at the moment :P But it has a few non-BWP-but-still-compatible mods like TotDG and Aurora's Shoes (the successor of Agprices ;)) that are gonna be included in BWP8.1. I've also been regular in customizing my install with new kits, adding portraits, removing "certain" components, and purposefully keeping the game unbalanced so that I may enjoy all the custom content the BWP has to offer :D

Now, I know that these changes may not be the right changes for everyone so I'd like you to think about it before I upload it :P There are about a 100 changed lines from the vanilla install.bat in the BWP Installpack ;) So, I can't even give you a list of what should be changed :P

The proper thing to do, would be to wait till SCS gets updated in G3 and then give the BWP some days to update itself, so that all the newer (bug-free) versions of the mods get used.

I'll wait for the 8.1 release candidate then :) This thread will inform me of when that should hit the interwebs, no?

Thanks as always dude

Any suggestions about lag-inducing components that could be removed are more than welcome ;)

Listen to Lollorian, and do the Tactics install, not the expert(NeJ).

What you could do is to copy the clean install to another directory and make a special NeJ install:

SoA + ToB + ToB patch
+ Baldurdash-WeiDU v1.67
+ BGT v1.01(+ updated .tp2 file) !!
+ Anynumber of BGT mods
+ BGT Tweak Pack v8
+ TS v7.03(ask from Vlad)
+ NeJ2 v6.9.1 & NeJ2 patch v6.94
+ BGT Songs
+ BGT GUI
+ Widescreen mod.

Some of those are only download-able from Black Worms Lair(the BGT v1.01's .tp2), and you need to PM Vlad to gain the TS v7.03... and you have to take/make the bug hunting yourself as it's not supported in any help forum.

I thought the compatibility problems were rather minimal with 4.2b patched to 6.0.2 (which I installed)?

Moreover, what would I be missing should I leave the SCS's out of my install?

Well, it's still in the Expert install, that should say to you that it will cause problems with more than 1 mod.

Moreover, what would I be missing should I leave the SCS's out of my install?

The Smart Enemies.

In the said NeJ install, it won't matter so much as hey have their own scripts, but with BWS they do as most of the mods have normal enemies but with better items...

I'll take my chances with dumb enemies to see if that helps remove some of the stutter :)

Leaving out SCSI/II until BWP8.1 seems to be the way to go ... not because of the stuttering, but cause of the revision in component numbers. And make sure you change the components of spell_rev from:
%IFES%spell_rev%S%spell_rev%L%0%SK% 0 1 | %M%
to:
%IFES%spell_rev%S%spell_rev%L%0%SK% 0 40 | %M%

And delete the lines:
%IFES%spell_rev%S%spell_rev%L%0%SK% 2 | %M%
and ...

Aw heck, here's my install.bat :D It should give ya an idea of how the new SCSII components can be installed

Hey hey. Just wanted to say I got my install working about a week ago, and I've been having so much fun playing that I haven't had a chance to post back here to thank you all <.< >.>

Few questions/comments/complaints, but I'll try to find the appropriate mod forums. BWP did its job nicely. Thanks once again!

Just did my 11th install thinking if i dont update anything and dont do the link fix it will work. Well i got hit by songlist overload , probably thanks to ctb. Im giving up.

Edited: Just removed Chloe mod to check if the install was correct , no luck the game hangs while entering the irenicus dungeon.

I have a bg2 only install without bgt so this sadly doesn't help but thanks for trying . I can live with it by throwing away 2 npc mods but the problem is the game freezes on the loading screen to irenicus dungeon and I'm really tierd of constant reinstalling.

OK!!! I've just fired up my version of the install.bat for a test run (actually, my patience wore off since SRv3 got out yesterday :P) I'll be doing a fresh install after SCSv10 and BWPv8.1 gets out though, but hopefully, this "test" install should gimme an idea of what to expect from the BWP8

PS: It's an EXPERT install, so it may not be devoid of bugs :P The .bat's been running for an hour now, and I noted 2 things ...

1. The BWPFixpack doesn't patch the new versions of SCS and SR but it patches Amber :w00t: (that's one intelligent batch file ) So, ya'll can use the BWPFixpack without bugs then :coolthumb: but unless component numbers are updated, it may not work out after all :P
2. I still haven't got any of the reported "errors" (probably due to regular updating of the .bat on my part :P)

EDIT: An incompatibility between the newer SCSII and Tactics discovered... The "Move Cloak of Mirroring" component from SCSII checks for an invalid .cre. To fix, change in Setup-scsii.tp2:

COPY_EXISTING ~misc01.itm~ ~override/dw#sahcl.itm~
   COPY_EXISTING ~sahramb.cre~ ~override~
		  ADD_CRE_ITEM ~dw#sahcl.itm~ #0 #0 #0 ~NONE~ ~INV~
to:

COPY_EXISTING ~misc01.itm~ ~override/dw#sahcl.itm~
   COPY_EXISTING ~sahramb3.cre~ ~override~
		  ADD_CRE_ITEM ~dw#sahcl.itm~ #0 #0 #0 ~NONE~ ~INV~

Still going strong though  Reached UniqueArtifacts ...

Cheers,
Lol
