Hey, is it possible to create a mod that will allow you to, when your character dies, have the party go vist a temple and get them ressurected as if they were a normal NPC?

In the IWD series the game only ends when the entire party is dead.

In the BG series you cannot be resurrected as you are a Bhaalspawn... Though Imoen appears as an exception.

What has Bhaal's taint to do with impossibility of ressurection ?

I believe thier taint goes with the other Bhallspawn taint.

Yeah - ever played BG1? The end movie shows some stuff about this. :)

So, is this "it can't be done" or is it "it won't be done because it would interfere with consistency"?

I think that the taint of Bhaal that dissapears when you die, leaves your body and mind to incomplete to be recovered. So, I excpect that would lead to problems with consistency. Plus, when you die the-smashy statue thing happens... although yes, you can ressurect Imoen. maybe the taint of Bhaal is less dominant in her then it is the PC.

It can be done, but it would affect consistency.

Well, when the main character dies, the death movie plays and the game ends, yes.
But, you can script work-around, e.g. replace the Protagonist with another creature, or make the Protagonist unselectable, unconscious and invisible when HP=1 or something.

Isn't the "play death movie on Charname's death" bit only coded by a script? That would make it easy.

My personal theory re: Imoen is that she's the child of a Bhaalspawn rather than the child of Bhaal :).

I don't believe so. Of course, that'd be another great .exe hack 'eh?

That makes sense - although presumably Bhaal would not have wondered in flesh for very long... that would make her a whole generation older then you, which doesn't seem to make much sense...

One of the official Bhaalspawn is a full grown Dragon with an adult son, so we're talking a few hundred years old at least. Bhaal had aparently been planning for his ressurection for a long time. ;)

It can be argued that divine blood can make one mature faster and reach whatever age requered for Dragons to mate well before their time. It sort of makes more sense to me, otherwise Bhaal would have to have 200 years or so foresight.

As for Im not falling to pieces -- it was disscussed before. One of the possible explanations is that the amount of the essence matters -- Immy has little of it so her body does not fall apart. Otherwise every BS in the ToB has to dissolve spectacularly after he/she is killed.

Freedom cannot be equated with goodness, virtue, or perfection. Freedom has its own unique self-contained nature; freedom is freedom ? not universal goodness. Any confusion or deliberate equalization of freedom with goodness and excellence is in itself negation of freedom, and acceptance of the path of restraint and enforcement.

Draconis calls Abazigal his father but I don't think he is really his son. He is a different species of a dragon for a start
Then she saw his eyes, red and mad as hell. And in that moment she knew that he could kill anyone, no matter how strong. Madness, true madness could put a fist through a plank.
