As of 6pm on Saturday, the files are still uploading to TheWizard. So no, there are no files for you to download yet. Give us a few more hours.

Still nothing...have you hit a snag, or am I just missing something?

The three files finally made to TheWizard's ftp server. When he has time, I'm sure he will get them transfered over.

You need all three RAR files. Each one builds out their part of the final DSotSC folder and the two setup files.

They'll read the first post, therefore I suggest editing it with the new URL. If you would be so kind, please...pretty please. Thank you. :)

The updated version of DSotSC (1.0 version) is now on server http://iegmc.mirror.intermedia.com.sg. The others should get it soon. This is a full install, not a patch. I have moved the area and sound files to the Core.RAR file so it is larger but shouldn't change again. The smaller file is the creature, dialog, and script files. I am sure it will change a few more times until this is bug free.

There is no patch to get you to 1.0, I had too many changes to create just a patch. Therefore, uninstall the mod. Delete the DSotSC folder and extract these two files into your SOA directory. Do not overwrite the DSotSC folder! I have removed some files no longer needed and don't want that to become an issue when you go bug hunting.

Thank you all for helping with this.

I've got the message about uninstalling the first version and deleting the folder. Ok, Which files do I download to install the updated version?

The old files will get deleted when TheWiz gets a chance to do so. In the meantime, the two files are DSotSCv1Core.RAR and DSotSCv1Main.RAR (kind of following the CtB concept).

Wow! The little mod seems to have grown? I'm attempting to download now. I'll put off my crawl through Cloakwood until I can finish the download. Probably will have to wait till tomorrow evening anyway. Time to hit the hay.

Thanks. Talk to y'all later . . .

Mark

ps. Damn, the download from Wizard's site seems awfully slow tonight.

I am working my way through cloakwood forest now. Havent gotten to the mine yet. Will anything in this new install necessitate a new game?

The new worldmap. You can just copy the new one over to your override folder. In the last patch, I tried to add text to the new areas but it never seemed to work correctly. So in the 1.0 version, I just added the areas without any text. Also, this fixed the triggers to those new areas. You have to talk to Jetlaya to reveal the Forgotten Souls area, but you don't have to have her with you. Same with Castle Daerthmac, you have to talk to Cuchy but you don't have to take him with you. The dialog with him will reveal the area for you. Same principle used in reviewing the Cloakwood areas.

Other fixes include ARE files that didn't link to their area scripts. If an actor doesn't show up like they are supposed to, this should be the reason. So a new game would fix that.

I just got done testing another game, if I install the new version will I have to start over? Does it require a new start for the new map to work? I want to go back to the start of Jet'Laya's quest, but not to the start again.

Can you elaborate on this a little? I wonder if it is possible that this is the problem Im describing in the "No otho at Thunder Hammer" thread.

What was the linking issue and why would a new game fix that?

You should be able to continue playing without needing the new worldmap. The areas are available either way (should be, that would be a good test actually). If you copy the new worldmap into your saved game, you will get the new map, but the areas you have already been to will not show up and you will have to go back to each one and review them. There is a thread between Hlid and MR about this in the BGT-BP forum.

As for the "linking issue", since I didn't use the worldmap originally, the areas are linked using travel triggers (just like BoneHill does). The problem is finding the trigger on the map where you move between areas. On BoneHill, I added map points on each map to help you. I haven't done that with DSotSC, so maybe I should. If you use a worldmap instead, you don't need the triggers, just move the players to the edge of the map and the worldmap will show you the next area.
