Hello,
Wasn't sure where to post this so I made a new thread. (hope that was okay, I'm sure there's others out there too)

Question: Not sure if you meant this, are open to revising this, or if it is a bug, but, as I played thru spellhold & just now entered the underdark (not in the drow city yet), I noticed that it was awful quiet. :( No comments from Edwin? No quips or insults, or snide comments at all. I kept wanting to ask him "who are you & what have you done with Eddie??" :P Not even a Holy crap Woman (!) as I attacked him as the slayer. That's not the Eddie we've come to know. I realize that not a whole lot is usually said in certain areas, i.e. dungeons etc. but . . . maybe just a little? Is the silence intended? Apart of a fiendish plot? I'm trying to remember if any of the other "love-interests" say much of anything. . . It's been too long ago that I played along w/Kelsey; Anomen makes a comment when you go after him as the slayer. . . let's see, the new (beta2) Valygar makes a comment also after you've (the slayer) try to "kill" him. Sigh. . . it's just not like Edwin to be that quiet. . .
Please know that I am not complaining, not in the least! The mod is wonderfull and I know it takes an incredible amount of work! I was just wondering. . . or rather rambling. . .

Edwin should comment on the Slayer transformation -- and did as I tested it a few minutes ago -- as long as the romance has advanced far enough.

Hmmm, I think it has advanced far enough, my PC "met" his mother. . . and they had been, caught in the act as it were. The hair charm has also been given to the PC as a gift. . . I'll have to try & find a saved game further back and go thru the Bohdi's "guantlet" again. Thanks for your reply!

Well, the romance was far enough, then. Did someone else say something about the change?

Just played through Spellhold yesterday, and had Tasha (elven mod) comment on the change rather than Eddie.

It often seems that the person who comments is the closest to the PC when the Slayer change happens, rather than the person s/he is involved with.

That is, indeed, the case. However, Edwin should be the first NPC to comment if there are no NPC's, that were installed after ER, close the PC around the transfromation. There's very little I can do to ensure that Edwin's the first to comment, if other mods are installed and apparently only one NPC is supposed to say anything at that point.

He didn't comment on the first Slayer transformation in my game. I usually set it up so that the comment comes from the NPC in romance - which in this case meant equipping Edwin with the Boots of Speed and have him dodge the Slayer's claws, until my PC returned to normal. Still, I didn't get Eddie's comment on that... rather Imoen's, who was standing way off screen. It seemed odd.

I actually got Kelsey's comment on it the first time around, and I wasn't even in a romance with him. Nevertheless, I still got the "Are you allright, dearest?" and ect dialogue. I reloaded, and that time Edwin commented, and Kelsey apparently went on unvaporised for his little Red-Wizard-Girlfriend infringement. ;)

I replayed that section of the game last night & finally got Edwin's response to the "slayer" :D It did take a couple of times though & I had to make sure Edwin was the closest to the main character. Does anyone know if there is any more dialog to come in the underdark?
I hate the thought of having to wait such a long time before Edwin's next comment. It is a long time between the comment on the "slayer change" & coming back to the surface, sigh, I 've become quite fond of the Red Wizard's commentary. . . ;)

Sorry, was reading back thru the previous posts & realized I never answered your question. . . at the time I think it was Jaheira or Imoen, no wait that was right at the start of the gauntlet when the main charcter falters a step of two. . . sorry, I don't think anyone commented, I guess it's moot now anyhow. :P

No Underdark commentary, I'm afraid, unless a certain relative of his hasn't shown up yet. That event happened to me in the Underdark. Otherwise, the next event will be the Bodhi abduction and vampirization of Edwin.
