Have done pretty much everything in Baldur's Gate (except the Merchant House...since I blew by Aldeth in the Cloakwood, he's a no-show in the city, and when I dropped by the Cloakwood, he just told me to get lost). Everything in the city, and the TGC content, worked fine.

Imoen's still a little funny with her "charming rogue" special abilities. She can summon a wolf pack, track, and dog sniff, but she can't cast Friends or Magic Missile (& 1 other is missing, not sure which).

Sorcerer Spell selection is a little funny. There are TWO versions of Cat's Grace, the existing BG version and one from CtB. The Detect Evil version appears to be that of the 1st level Cleric, and there's a Pick Pockets option that has the same icon as "Luck". This is all for the Druidic Sorc, but I think the spell selection is the same as for normal Sorcs.

Text and voice for the Chapter 7 dream is a no-show.

I've now killed some critters that, in my prior game, had Exnem items. Now they don't. I haven't downloaded a new version, so even if you changed something in EI, it should affect my installs. Is Exnem random in that it may place its items on different creatures on each game/installation?

Belt didn't want to talk when I got back from killing Sarevok. Had to manually alter "PartyGoByeByeNow" Global from 1 to 2.

When entering Ulgoth's Beard, the usual intro doesn't play. Instead, the box comes up, but the dialogue and text are "Who would want to mislead us" from doppelgangers at the scene at Sarevok's intended elevation to Duke.

Oh, and the "Endurance" 2nd level CON-boosting spell uses the "Cat's Grace" icon on the spell casting toolbar.

Sounds like several of the spells are using the same filenames, so the latest one overwrites the older one. I had this problem with DSotSC. The Holy Goblet that gives you a new innate spell was overwritten by CtB's use of the same spellname. That is one of the things I am changing in the next DSotSC patch.

I have a version of DoS designed for BP and found that most of their spells overwrote spells already in BP. And three of them are from DSotSC so it would be possible to learn the same spell twice and have both in your spellbook, just different filenames. So I had to remove those three from this version of DoS. I need to work on modifying each TP2 file so they know what to install and what not to install based on previously installed mods. By the way, don't ask for DoS yet, I haven't asked for permission and I have to check it against CtB.

The Global for PartyGoByeByeNow was supposed to be fixed in S&H patch 3. I noticed that DSotSC still has a problem during install with that script but I haven't looked into it yet. Maybe it doesn't always get patched?

If you installed the same version of Exnem, you should get the same random items. However, CtB adds new random items and I haven't looked into compatibility issues between these two yet.

All seems normal with Shandalar's island. No transition text/dialogue in box for passage to, or from, Werewolf Island.

Lahl's dialogue prior to entering the wolfwere portion of the island is missing. Other quests seem normal, and Karoug dropped the baby this time. And, while I don't remember anyone ever saying they'd found the CTD problem with the caves, or that they'd fixed it, but it appears to be gone.

Have you been to the xvart village or the river area North of gnoll stronghold? Are the water areas looking okay? I had some really weird overlay problems with maps lately. How does the Worldmap look to you?

No, I skipped those areas, since I visited them prior to the restart. I'll hit them on my way back to the Beard--right now I'm at the chessboard, so it might still be today.

The map looks a little congested--as it should, with so many areas in such a tight space; the gnoll fort so close to Athkatla looks weird, but whaddayagonnado?

Yeah, I fixed that with the first s&h patch. It was a bad spawn point IIRC.

Well, we could have icons at half the size, but then you run the risk of constantly clicking on the wrong spot and having to reload the correct spot. Not sure about other options but if you think about it, the areas south of Nashkel are supposed to be in the mountains just north of Athkatla. Only other solution is to strip out areas all together (not really a good solution).

Can you CLUA into AR3499 and AR3498? If not, something is really wrong with my areas besides strange looking water overlays. Do you have all the files for those areas in your override? ARE, WED, MOS, TIS, 3 BMP?

Sure don't. For AR3498, I have a BCS, ARE, and MOS. Nothing at all for AR3499.

Alright, then I will asume you ran my other batch file to biff the files. In your data directory, you should have a BGTCTB.BIF file. If not, then most of the area files never copied over to your override folder. The TIS files should be there no matter what. I didn't biff them. So you can go to the CtB4BGT-BP\fixed folder, and copy thoses files over to your override. Then test the areas again. I'll have to go back to my TP2 file and see why it isn't copying over all the files.

There is now BGTCTB file in my data folder. However, copying all the files from "fixed" to my override folder did the trick; I was then able to enter the areas.

The End-Of-TotSC box had dialogue/text "What of the Zhentarim" I've heard they may be somehow involved."

The transition, from Belt to the Grove to Irenicus' dungeon, worked with nary a hitch. Mae'var's gang spoke dialogue from Faldorn and/or her compatriots in the Cloakwood, but shortly after the display of the dungeon - and I could see Minsc and Jaheira in their cages - the flashback to Candlekeep commenced. There have been some screen blackouts in Candlekeep - the interface is fine, just the display goes black for a while, but I haven't noticed a cause, let alone pattern. And I am gonna HAVE to CLUA myself some boots of speed, the child-Gwydion moves way too slow for this....

Glad to be providing *some* good news! :D

Okay, I've killed numerous critters that, in my prior run-through, had items from Exnem. They have an extra item of treasure each this time, but it's not an Exnem item. I presume that this has something to do with CtB's random treasure placement. Not a big deal at this point, as I was getting too many high-end items before (though all potions and scrolls, and a few +6 rings, no armor or weapons or anything like that), but hopefully CtB doesn't completely block placement of Exnem's items.

The Candlekeep chores were as tedious as ever, but the weird blackouts stopped once I began my first set of chores.

Upon returning to CI, I found my containers were in my cage. However, they are missing large quantities of items! Bad enough that I lost some 600K in gold. I suppose I should be glad that I keep what I do; however, I was planning on CLUA'ing in my containers and thus recovering my items anyway. Now I have to decide whether to burn time finding out what's missing and CLUA'ing it in, or just getting on with it. *grumble grumble*

Okay, if anyone's insterested, there's a pattern to items disappearing from containers:

One of everything disappears. If you had 2, you'll have one. If you had 100, you'll have 99. This appears to be consistent, whether it's a bag of holding, ammo belt, potion case, jewel bag, scroll case.

a few items that had been in the bag (such as the sword of balduran) were in a pile with the cases, no longer in the case per se.

Not much time to play this week. Got as far as the Vale of Shadows tonight. Still have massive numbers of Yeti, mists, shadows, etc., descending on me upon entrance, and it's not much easier for a well-equipped 650K XP party than for a poorly equipped 250K XP party. I've got the s & h nerf installed, but I've still got characters panicking and throwing away their armor.

I'll be trying again tomorrow...hoping to stay away from the cheat keys.

Tonight, on "core" setting, I cleared the outdoor area of the Vale, plus the four mini-tombs, without once using CTRL-Y, CTRL-R, or any other cheat. Huzzah!
