Level cap of 30 or 20 would be good imo. Magical items can always give the lil' extra boost.

I wonder if the character should gain special feats not only by levelling up, but also by training. In my opinion, would be a good idea to implement the option of training in DA, as a way to gain some new special abilities. What I mean (a sample) : maybe your character can meet in game, let's say, the High Master of the Order of the Long Death and he could teach him the Dragon Claw fighting technique. :D Such trainers should grant important boons, but they should also be very hard to find.

Could work, I suppose, but not with too many trainers since you could get so many feats that way it would become cheezy.

What about a split leveling system. Every ability has it's own level. AND everything decays in exp and even loses levels at a set speed. This increases the high the level is.

(this is more of an MMORPG idea)

So if you played 2 hours a day, there would be a point when the decay of exp would match your leveling speed. So if you wanted to get any stronger, you'd have to put more effort/time into it. Now, if you split levels into different abilities rather than just one overall level. Players who don't pay attention to their thief abilities and spend awhile on magic for example would gradually lose their thief skills.

note: there would be "base" levels, where there's no delay though. Like riding a bike. You won't ever forget it completely.

That way the level limit is based on how much and how efficiently the players plays the game. Rather than everyone eventually being godly by just playing, but the only skill is how fast they do (which isn't very good is it?).

Also, this mirrors reality. Athletes train to maintain there fitness, the harder they train, the beter they get. But if they stop training as hard, they're fitness level drops.

You could add natural abilities to this, for example a player (either randomly at generation or by design) could naturally be a better mage than a thief. His mage skills could degenerate at a slower rate, meaning he is able to reach a higher level with them than he would with thief skills.

Sorry... I get carried away :whistling:

I dont really like the idea of skills decaying, but perhaps if they could only decay a small amount (say each skill had a 1-100 point system and after that it went up another level) and it would decay back to 1 but you would never actually loose a 'level' in that skill, then it could be add to the game. For stats, if they had a 'stamina' or 'fitness' one then that should be able to decay, likewise with strength.

Welcome to the forums, btw

And the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side.

I know it wouldn't add much (if anything) to DA, It's more of an MMORPG thing. And besides, it's not just physical fitness. Can you still remember the lyrics to songs you havn't played for awhile? (Lyrics / Spell incantations)
Metanoia, a Greek word meaning a change of mind. A radical revision and transformation of our whole mental process. That change of mind is something whereby God takes center place in our consciousness, in our awareness, and in our minds.

Metanoia means a new mind. About what? About who we are. If tonight youre hearing with your heart, its time for metanoia. Its time for a new mind about yourself and about life.

Metanoia is the idea of the need for conversion. And this is then recognizing that we dont know, truthfully dont know, God and truthfully dont feel ourselves as God intends us to.
