Try Control-Y on the mage:

1. If she does not die, then this is really a problem. Try reload the earlier game and try again.

2. If she die, I would think that continue to do damage to her and she should ultimately die.

Just my way of problem-solving.

The two of them are supposed to teleport into the next room and fight you again. So either the game lost control of her (horror spells and the like do this) or the script skipped a line. Reload before the fight and try again. They will both be invincible until they move to the other area. Then you should be able to kill them.

In my game, they always teleported into the fire room. Maybe he is in a hallway and you can't see him?

Changes were made to these two recently (for BP-weidu), to help prevent the script breakage. Hopefully they are enough. Instead of the MINHP1 amulets, they now wear SUREHP1 rings. These protect from almost every nasty effect somebody could conjure up (fear, sleep, charm, etc--script breakers), but still allows you to beat on them (sword or spell--like fireball, magic missile, et.al.). I also added a couple more checks into their scripts, when I was updating the code.

The mages drop the rings, heal, and Dim Door to another locale on the same floor--when either goes below HP5, or when their "little skit" is over. They very well may be hiding out invisibly.

WARNING: If you already "know" where they are at, and you try some cheesy "fireball from offscreen" tactics, you may possibly be in for some nasty surprises. This does not apply only to Tolgerias and partner...such is the way in BP-weidu.

I use Near Infinity check the scripts.
It seems that TOLGER2.CRE has BPTOLGER.bcs as General Script and BPTOLG1A.bcs as Race Script.
in BPTOLG1A.bcs there have code when it's hp lower than 5 and destory the item, BUT the item in this script IS MINHP1 NOT SUREHP1.

You must have TDD installed; I had made the changes to the "NO TDD" files, but had forgotten the "with TDD" versions. Corrected for BPv177; thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)

The presence of bugs is the only certainty in a "beta" release. And, by default, the user of any beta should be prepared for this inevitability.

Yes, this is the case--unless you can manage editting one line of script in 2 scripts: BOTOLG1A and BPTGMG1A. Change MINHP1 to SUREHP1, and that is that...

i edited the following two files as per above:

BPTOLG1A.baf (instead of 'BOTOLG1A' which was probably a typo)
BPTGMG1A.baf

in the folder <bgII home>\BPv176\TDD\BAF.

i hope this is the folder where the changes needed to be made. thanks.

Yes, if you do not have BP already installed--this is where to make the changes. If already installed, change the existing .bcs files of same name.

i dont know whats wrong, but it seems if i set the difficulty to minimum , tolgerias and the mage do not become killable ==> a simple script is assigned but the ring is not removed (they also do not teleport away). in higher difficulties the amnish soldiers are spawned but they do not attac. also tolgerias becomes red but do not attac (he teleports away) the other mage stays blue. also the ring is already present and not removed ... does this mean something went wrong during installation ?

no, it's not an install problem - yr describing the problems horred explained above in this thread:

edit one line of script in 2 scripts: BOTOLG1A and BPTGMG1A. Change MINHP1 to SUREHP1, and that is that...

the other problem, the mage not turning hostile, is (from memory, i haven't got BG2 installed atm, i'm awaiting KD's latest releases) that TOLGER2.dlg references the wrong versions of the mage (should be TOLMAG2.cre, from memory) (note that BP uses TOLGER2.cre for both versions of tolgerias). fixing this reference makes all enemies turn red at the right point.

thanks for pointing this out. the dialog referrences tolmag01, should be tolmag02. Fixed for upcoming release.
