Hmmm.....I know you don't wanna hear it, but....you got problems, my friend. My Minstrel PC is wearing her armor right now. And Brage was safe in the temple in my game.  :whistling:

Do you mean the game crashed in Xvart village board? If so, grab the AR3498 filepack by King Diamond, here on the forums (...errrm, somewhere  ).
If you mean an actual closet-space in Limbo, wow---be sure to sell the black lotus back to the guy you purchased it from!  And don't eat the brown lotus....:P

Just what I wanted to hear. It took three days and four tries to get this build up and running. On the Keira thingy, I took Keira's armor off to see if she could wear a mage robe I purchased and to see if the robe would improve her armor class. NPC's need to be alive to be useful and Keira's AC is kinda mediocre for the later chapters. In any case, I couldn't put it back on. As for the second appearance coming of Brage. In my game, Brage is in the temple but, he's also on the original encounter screen. This seems to be a hangover from the original BG1 game because I can remember it happening then too. With the Xvart village screen, my party ended up in the middle of the BGII logo screen, no AR3498 map. Limbo.

I got a few other indicators that things are not kosher. The Wood Elves were a no-show on the Ogre island and I'm getting the original BG1 transition overlay when I change areas.

The wood elves decided to move. Actually, it is NTotSC, that mod moves them up to the great white north. New area. So all the original actors are still on the map in their original spots (i.e., the ogre is next to his campfire).

Keiri works fine for me with the armor. Since it has a special name, I can't imagine another mod using a DSKEARM.ITM filename but you never know what CB was smoking (eh, working on).

Can you CLUA to AR3498? That is the new area for the Xvarts.

BG 1 logos during load do appear. Not sure which mod causes that but I get them also. They also don't fit correctly on the screen.

The Beregost inn problem has been around forever. I always save before entering any of them. It seems to be random when the crash will happen but it does happen.

Hey if anyone wants an ass wuppin, go upstairs in the Jovial Juggler and talk to the ladies a few times. I haven't gotten their dialogs cleaned up yet but man can they take you out quick.

There is also a boy upstairs in one of the houses in Beregost that will call out to Mommy. Mommy and Daddy are a frighting combination when you think about having the boy.

Jovial Juggler and House with a boy? Which house? I'm in Restenford at the moment. Sounds like I'll have to explore Beregost when I come back. I'll try the CLUA to get into the Xvart map as well. The whole concept of rebuilding this game is a little depressing at the moment, so I'm charging ahead, whistling and tap dancing around the minefield warnings. It's time to put things up for tonight. Have to teach in the morning.

I've managed to complete Bone Hill without any major snafu's. In just about every instance, the mod performs beautifully. Great work SBB! From here I'm going to move to Ulcaster, Gullykin, and Firewine, before I go Bandit butchering.

Curently my party is averaging 5th, to 6th level. My PC is at 5,4,5.

Whoa, the new encounter on the Temple of Lathander map is pretty tough. Sounds like a quest, but where are the rest of the details? NTotSC, right?

Go download the v02 patch for NTotSC. I fixed the three ghosts in there so they will talk to you now (you still have to clean out the place first to get to them). You will need to pick up a special sword for them. By the way, the normal routine to get that sword is to play evil. Anyone who has talked to the Ulcaster ghost should know the sword, because you get it from him.

I was able to talk to them on the first install. Haven't been to Ulcaster yet. I'll download the patch before I continue. I got a whole bunch of error messages when I tried to install the patch and it failed. Here's the debug file if it helps.

Looks like there is an extra slash "\" in a copy command. Okay, obviously something went wrong in the last copy and paste command. I will see about posting up a fixed TP2 file.

Edit: Nope, I just installed it with no problem. Do you have a NTotSCv02 debug file to look at?

That was my NTotSCv02 debug file. :ermm: What's going on with FW. Most of yesterday and again today, the site has been very balky and I keep getting error messages about mysql.

I went ahead and played through Ulcaster and I am now in Gullykin after clearing out the dungeon. The stupid wizard was a little smarter this time. He didn't charge into the attack, but he still positioned himself so he could be bushwhacked without getting off a spell. The Ogre Mage didn't manage to get one off either, at least not one that I noticed. The Knight showed up and attacked, then ran off before I could kill him. Damn he's quick. I couldn't catch him before he disappeared.

p.s. Gandolar Luckyfoot is speaking in Polish. The text appears in English, but his dialog is in Polish.

p.s.s. Alright y'all. What is it with the uberkobalds. The little bastard cast Stoneskin and Chaos, and the gods know what else!!!! I mean it's kind of like the Vorpal Bunny from the Holy Grail. Forget I said that. I can just see it now. "That rabbit's dynamite!!"

I'll look into the Polish sound files for Luckyfoot. I think KD already discovered that several dialogs were converted for NTotSC and so far I have just installed their WAV files back to our mod. Things like this need to be cleaned up still.

Limbo.

I had the same AR3498 problem. Reading the CtB forum I found out that it was caused by a .wed file. When I checked my ar3498.wed file (and I think I have the corrected one from King Diamond, it's dated 12/25/04) it was pointing to ar3600.tis. Using NI I changed that to ar3498.tis and now it seems to work fine.

Sounds reasonable, I wish I had a clue as to how to recreate what you've described. I use NI for a little more than a save game editor at this point. If I want to tinker with or create an item or whatever, I use IEEP or DLTCP. In any case, my skills are pretty minimal. For the time being, I don't really have time to do much more than that. For the most part, I'm a gamer. I can offer non-technical support and advice based on experience, but I can't even begin to explain how or why any of this works. That and I realy love to play the game and to participate in forums on topics I find interesting.

Wading through the cheese, wading through the cheese . . . Just played through the map south of the Temple of Lathander and then Larswood and Peldvale. I had an interesting encounter on the map south of the temple that seemed to carry over onto the Larswood map. I accumulated a flock of Winter Wolves and they followed me all across the map, wreaking havoc on whatever jumped out of the grass to attack me. The seemed to show up again on the Larswood map, only this time they were named Veter. Interesnaya. Again, they followed me all across the map, wreaking havoc on all that opposed me. It was neat to see the poor bandits being chunked by the icy blasts. The wolves disappeared when I jumped from Larswood to Peldvale.

Whose bright idea was it to put an Ogre Magi on the Peldvale map. The bastard Lightning Bolted me and I didn't even see 'im. I had to back track and find his sorry ass. He wasn't much of a threat after I found him, but the lightning bolt was certainly a rude how do you do. Time to pack it in tonight. Tomorrow, off to the Bandit Camp, if time permits.

One more odd thought before I toddle off to bed. What would it take to have Keira Silverstrings transfer to BGII? I'm guessing that a complete NPC mod would have to be written.

Are you volunteering to write her mod? I am not a big fan of NPCs. I can honestly say I have never used the Kelsey mod nor intend to. I have nothing against the team that wrote him or their fine work on wroting mods, I just don't like NPCs. I use them when I have to and then get rid of them. I would solo BG2 if the story didn't lock me into rescuing Imoen (okay, I use her sometimes, even did the romance mod once).

The ogre magi comes from NTotSC. There is a quest to remove him. The druid who gives you that quest is near the Baldur City Bridge.

How the hell did you get Veter???

Much to my surprise, Veter joined my party when I clicked on the party formation button after a fight in the Temple of Lathander area east of Beregost. He/She was alone and did not follow to Beregost. I wondered if it was some kind of easter egg, prompting a banter from Sime later on. I have recently installed the BP S-and-H Patch v5 without starting a new game. That migh have something to do with it.

If I knew what the hell I was doing I'd give it a go. I'm a huge fan of NPC's and party interactions. It's one of the main reasons why I play the game. (TBH, I have an idea for a second NPC.) Like I said, if I knew what I was doing . . .

So that's where he came from. He certainly got my attention. I didn't "get" Veter. He just kind of tagged along when I entered the screen south of the Temple of Lathander. I ended up with three of them on that screen. On the Larswood screen, I had two of them. Those cold breath weapons are pretty handy in a pinch. I never had him join my party and I never tried to speak to him. Should I have?

(I moved my tag line into to my signature.)

Hopefully I can send this now. This site has been funky all day. Good, it went through. Whasup with FW? Anyway, Veter showed up again. This time on the second Cloakwood map. (I hate Spiders, I hate Spiders, I hate Spiders . . .) He was being attacked by several Woodland Creatures. Someone was shouting "Slay the Child of the Light." I rushed over and killed the beasties attacking him. After the battle Veter tagged along with my party for as long as we were on the screen. This time I clicked on him to talk and he responded by turning his backside on me and then going over by Sime. Of course Sime isn't with my party, in Cloakwood.
I would guess that Veter isn't supposed to be in Cloakwood during BG1 either.

I had Veter show up in the area SW of High Hedge. When I moved to the lighthouse area he didn't follow, but I ended up finding him again being attacted by a carion crawler over by that cave. I've never heard of Veter before, is he a part of a quest or some other mod that isn't fully compatable yet with my BP-BGT-NEJ install?

I finished reading through the rest of the S & H 5 thread. That's just what Seanas had said. I haven't downloaded the newest version yet. I've been waiting for Horred to release his reworked components for the entire package.

If anybody has an NPC creation for Dummies kit lying around, please post it somewhere where I can get to it to download. In the meantime, the encounter with the Archdruid on the Cloakwood Mines map is seriously fubared. He isn't the enemy, yet there is no way to parlay with him. You are forced to kill what should be a powerfull ally. Why doesn't he recognize Jaheira? The Shadowdruids all did. Serious design flaw here.

Completed the Cloakwood Mines. Daevorn went down very easily. I don't remember changing my difficulty setting anywhere, but his AI seems to have been hamstrung. Damned fool charged in like a fighter. Lasted about 2 rounds. In any case, after Cloakwood, I headed back to the Friendly Arm and swapped J'etlaya for Keira. I'll pick Keira up when I've run the DSotSC adventures. Are Bards limited to third level spells?

Bards can go higher than the third level in spells. It may take a few advancements to reach 4th level spells though.

The archdruid has some new equipment from DSotSC but I didn't change any dialog options or scripts. He should only fight you if you piss him off or have Jaheria with you. Oh, which archdruid? The one in the tree or the one next to the mines? Should be the same for either one though, no changes to scripts or dialogs.

Daevorn should have done his normal spell casting (lightning bolt, protections, etc). Again, I added new equipment but didn't change him. Not sure if these guys are trying to use their more powerful equipment instead of casting their spells. I will have to look at their fight scripts and see if I have changed the balance in them of what to attack with.
