Okay, here it is, the ?Single DVD Full Install for Baldur?s Gate 2?
However, at the very least, I believe that it is necessary to do a full install of SoA in order for this to work...

1) Copy ToB onto its own folder on your Hard Drive

2) Copy all of the 4 SoA disks into a single folder of their own, nothing in SoA will overwrite itself, so don?t worry

3) Take the folder that you have all of the SoA stuff in, and move the folder itself into the ToB folder

4) Go into the Folder that has the SoA stuff in it and find a file called CD1.IFO, copy this and go back up a level to the ToB folder and paste it in with the rest of the ToB files

5) take everything that is inside the folder with all of the ToB stuff and move it onto the DVD to be burned. At this time the DVD should contain:
------All of the ToB files
------A folder containing all of the SoA files(disks 1 ? 4)
------A file named CD1.IFO that was copied from the SoA folder

Run instructions:

1) The disc will always auto run as ToB. But if you haven?t installed SoA, it won?t let you install ToB

2) To install SoA, you must open the DVD itself and go into the Folder with the SoA Files and click on the Baldur.exe file contained within

3) When the installer gets to 95% it may ask you to specify the location of disc 1. If it does just select the ToB disk itself

4) Now just autorun the disc itself, and select the option to install ToB. Once you do this, just leave the disc in while you play to your hearts content.

Folks, here's the original thread. By request, I am keeping the full instructions pinned and easily read, so that people can get to the information quickly.

Urm..Grey, by any chance do you know how to do this with BG1 as well? That was the original request... :whistling:

All I know is that BG1 does indeed go on a single disc, you can throw it all together like you do with SoA

Unfortunately, I don't have TotSC, so I have absolutely no idea if that works like ToB does... I would suspect that the steps would be roughly the same, however, replace SoA with BG1 and replace ToB with TotSC.

Sorry, I'm limited to what games I have. If anyone would like to send me a copy of TotSC, I would be happy to figure it out though. :D

I wish this topic was here 3 weeks ago when I backed up BG1+TotSC and BG2+ToB in 2 DVDs. I put ToB and TotSC into a separate folder and the downside is the game doesn't see the ToB disk. But I use a crack because I hate CD checks so that's not such a big problem.

Oh, just something I forgot to mention.

In order to track down which file I needed for it to recognize SoA, I first placed the first disc from SoA into a folder, then placed ToB into the same folder and said 'yes to all' when it asked me if I wanted to overwrite.

Then I placed all 4 discs from SoA into a seperate folder, and that folder was placed into the folder that contained ToB and SoADisc1, then I burned all of that to a DVD.

I don't know, but I highly suspect that this will work for BG1. Just replace SoA with BG1 and replace ToB with TotSC.

Add the ToB patch and KenTeamBG's No-CD patch into another folder and you've got the lot all in one place.....

[EDIT] I've got two copies of SoA/ToB; as released separately and as a single, complete package. The ToB disc in the complete package is verrrry interesting..... no laserlok and also contains the ToTSC patch, amongst a load of other cr*p.

A question:

Do all the files of the 4 discs go into a single folder or is there a folder per disc?

E.G.
BG2-ToB>SoA>disc 1 \
BG2-ToB>SoA>disc 2 \ Files in each folder
BG2-ToB>SoA>disc 3 /
BG2-ToB>SoA>disc 4 /

OR

BG2-ToB>SoA >all files in one folder for all the discs

 probably a really stupid question...

-------------------------------------------------------------------
ok ive tried it... it is asking me for disc5(?) <_<

I just did it and it works like a charm. Heres what the directory on the disc looks like:

and inside the SoA folder there:

Hopefully that helps...
(Ignore the Mods Patches directory, you dont need it, as Im sure you can work out yourself ;) )

How many tries did it take you to get it right? I must thank you, installing BG2 was always something that I dreaded because of the changing CDs, and its now faster and hassle free! Three cheers for Grey Acumen :thumb:
