I just installed BP and started a new game and it is really choppy.  The little pause pendulum doesn't swing, it jerks.  I'm playing on a Dell that I got in August, that was at the time the second best computer they had to offer, so it should be able to run BG2 fine.  I thought maybe it was a problem outside of BP though because Warcraft 3 has been choppy lately too, so I tested my old Baldur's Gate TuTu and it worked just fine (and it uses the BG2 engine...).  So I have to conclude that it is BP, but I have no idea what to do.  And now, after testing some more and going back to edit this, I'm again not sure it's BP.  Apparently BG2 is slightly choppy on my computer even without BP, and with it just a lot more so.  Any ideas?  Has this happened before with BP?  I have something like 14 other mods I was going to install afterwards and I'm afraid to do so till I get this cleared up.  Whether or not this is actually a BP problem I could really use some help.  Thanks.

By the way, I think I might have had Baldurdash fixes installed before installing BP.  Does installing them again with BP matter?  Does BP include all of these fixes?

Depending on the size of your override folder you might want to so a search for "stutter bug" as well as "biffing the override". I would dig up posts and find you links, but methinks I need bed badly.

I just installed BP, and this happens to me too. I'm still in the first dungeon and it gets choppy, I have 2 GHz and 512 ram!

I've done a search for the stutter bug in the past and read every post online that I could find on it. Somehow I learned absolutely nothing. Should I just reinstall everything? My dad turned on the 3d accelerator option to try to fix it and it runs better but not perfect as it used to a month ago =(.

I'm installing it all over again. Should I install Baldurdash beforehand or are all the fixes included in BP?

Reinstalling won't change anything. What size is your override folder?

By the number of times you have re-installed the game, I may think that your hard disk is fragmented beyond oblivion. Can I suggest a defragment?

It was defragmented about a week ago, so it shouldn't be too bad. I just installed everything again, and I think I MAY have missed the step of copying the dialog.tlk before. Also, isn't there a patch for BP? The installation instructions don't say anything about installing patches for BP itself so I didn't even think of that until now. By the way, when I reinstalled the game it worked fine before installing BP, I have yet to try it again afterwards.

Edit: I installed the patch. It is super laggy again =(. I'm about ready to give up on BP.

Edit again: I turned off Norton AntiVirus and my Anti Spyware program and now it runs way better. Not as good as without BP, but almost bearable.

Actually my dad found it. Now my computer is like 20 times faster. I'm so happy.

Thanks to creators of this mod, so far it's working great and is making the game a whole lot more interesting =).

Edit: Forgot to ask, does BP include Tactics? Someone said that it does, and if that's the case does it include all the components? I hate the smarter mages and liches but I sure want the new enemies to fight.
