Anyone know the relevance of Edwin's cryptic comments toward Aerie about her knowing something? It's in the original game, not just in the mod, but I figured this would be the best place to ask.
For those who don't memorise every single ingame dialogue, it goes something like
Edwin: I feel so tired... And I see two or three of everything. Or is it four? Definitely four.
Aerie: Edwin! Stand your ground, I will heal you!
Edwin: (No! She knows!) She knows! Augh, I bleed! Get away from me girl, get away!
And also, is there a specific event that triggers the start of the romance, or is it just a time thing? I've had Edwin in the party a while now, and no lovetalks.

I thinks he means that she knows that he's hurt and needs help.
And also, is there a specific event that triggers the start of the romance, or is it just a time thing? I've had Edwin in the party a while now, and no lovetalks.
You have to have Eddie in the group when you go to kill Mae'var and you have to have at least 14 int or was it wis? one of them otherwise you are too dumb for Eddie to waste his time on you.

That comment by Aerie never made much sense to me. In that dialogue, the writer seemed to be basically trying to present Edwin as a paranoid schizophrenic, but in the other ones he doesn't give me that impression at all. (After all, you don't need to be insane to speak like this.)
About the other question, SaintZenn is perfectly right. The first lovetalk should trigger just after you kill Mae'Var, assuming Edwin is in your party as you do that, and assuming your Int is 14 or above.

Ok, I reloaded an old saved game, shadowkeeper'd my Int up to 14, and killed Maevar again. But once again, no dialogue from Edwin! What's gone wrong, any ideas?

I had the same problem when I was playing a half-orc PC. Check the EdwinMatch variable. It should be set to 1 to start the romance.Ok, I reloaded an old saved game, shadowkeeper'd my Int up to 14, and killed Maevar again. But once again, no dialogue from Edwin! What's gone wrong, any ideas?

Checked shadowkeeper, that variable wasn't there. "EdwinRomanceWorkaround" was set to 1, though. My other Edwin variables areI had the same problem when I was playing a half-orc PC. Check the EdwinMatch variable. It should be set to 1 to start the romance.

This is really annoying. Could it be because Edwin goes up a level as we kill Mae'var? Unlikely, I know, but...
EDIT: Nevermind, I deleted the EdwinRomanceWorkaround variable, and that worked. Though if anyone knows of any unwanted side effects that could occur from that, please let me know.

The condition is when he has low HP. Eddie's just prideful and doesn't want to admitt he's hurt.

Has anyone else gotten a dialouge between Aerie and Edwin that goes something like this:
Aerie: Edwin, I was just wondering, who are you always talking to?
Edwin: (She suspects!) No one, you silly girl.
Aerie: I was just hoping I could meet him seomday.
This lead me to believe Edwin had a familiar he was hiding. Possible in that secondary invantory where he kept the Nether Scroll and Anomen kept his sisters ring.

I got this dialog as well. That time I thought he had some sort of split personality and when I read his epilogue on some website (back then I didn't want to buy ToB 
) while he was still female I was sure he would sort of split up at the end of this affair.

Except Dekaras wasn't Bioware's invention, the question is : what was Bioware trying to hint at with this banter?Has anyone else gotten a dialouge between Aerie and Edwin that goes something like this:

Personally, I think it was supposed to hint that Edwin had a split personality (hence the inner monologues) something that doesn't fit my view of the character (he's perfectly sane, yes he is)

I agree they might have been trying to hint that Edwin had a split personality - which of course doesn't fit at all with my view of him, and I think most of the other dialogues contradict that. This particular banter just feels 'off' to me, as if it was written by another person than the rest. (Besides, I occasionally talk in parenthesis myself, and there's only one of me.)

People who talk to themselves don't always have a split personality, or have to be schizophrenic. I talk to myself and I have neither of those. 
I'm just lonely, and I always listen to myself. I just don't do it as openly as our Eddie does, thus preventing people (Like Aerie, in this case) from misunderstanding me.

Well, I, too, always suspected that he has a familiar he's hiding. Maybe some little demon or something like this, something he doesn't want anyone else to see.
To me this just makes *sense*, with him always talking to someone, and I think that especially Aerie's remark that she would "like to meet him some day" hints in that direction, because if he was just talking to himself, Aerie certainly wouldn't want to meet this 'second self', but she *would* be quite happy to meet a sweet little familiar, wouldn't she?

Possible, yes... Edwin *is* a Conjurer, after all. Still, I stick to my beliefs that Edwin is just talking to himself, and Aerie says she likes to meet the person Edwin talks to, thus teasing him a little.
