I can't work out the Beds puzzel. I need clearer clues. I keep thinking I got it, but then I findout something is wrong.

You mean in Icewind Dale? Yeah, I know that it can be a bit tricky but it really can be solved by the clues given.
There is however another possibility to get to the next level. There is a room quite near the entrance. There´s a pedestal and a statue or something like that. Go and have one of your characters stand about 10-20 seconds in the circle. An enemy will appear and he has the key to the next level.
