Problem talking with Imoen

I just installed the whole package detailed in the sticky posts above without any mods after the fact except for the 313 patch and S and H patch 6. Everything works great except that whenever I talk to Imoen while she's in the group (either with her starting a banter with me or me clicking the talk icon onto her), she says, "I s'pose I'll be going. We're friends and all, but I guess I'll just wait 'till you change yer tune. I'll be around when you do." Then, she leaves the group and I have to reinvite her.

Anyone have any ideas of what went wrong? The only errors I got during installation were some "internal label" errors.

If this is the BG1 portion of the game, the trick is...don't talk to Imoen. Every joinable NPC shouldn't have anything to say to you, and if they do, will initiate dialogue themselves. Otherwise, I can't say what else could be wrong, except that Imoen Romance (which from what you say isn't installed) can screw things up in the BG1 part of the game.

She was actually initiating conversations with me which caused her to leave. I just kicked her out of the group and she went off somewhere. I'll just have to enjoy the BG1 portion of the game without her since everything else works great.

Hmm, what is your reputation? It might be too low and that's why she says what she says.

90% NPC dialogues of the original (LARGE) BP-BGT are BROKEN.
That all fixed in BGT-WeiDU.

It's not my rep since it happens once Imoen joins the problem.

If the NPC dialogue is broken, then that would explain it. I just installed the BG1 NPC banter project and sometimes NPCs talk to Jaheira, but she doesn't say anything back.

As for members leaving, yes we discovered this during the testing of the first NPC banter pack. Since none of the NPCs had any good banters in BGT, no one realized that the dialog files were broken. Once you started initiating dialogs with them or sometimes if they started the dialogs, the dialog file keep selecting the response of them leaving. Hopefully, K.D. is making sure this won't get repeated with the Weidu version of BGT.

It's V8. Now Jaheira is leaving the group with Khalid after I've been playing with her in my group for 15 hours or so. She says she's leaving as if I booted her from the group. I guess it's a incorrect banter that is triggered after a certain amount of time since it happens everytime after a few hours of ingame time pass.

Either that or she and Khalid are unhappy and are saying the wrong thing?

I honestly can't remember the NPCs in BP-BGT-NeJ being this screwed up.

Hi,

I also just started a new game (BGT-BP-NeJ-TS-CtB-DSotSC-NTotSC and some minor mods, all labelled compatible, including BG1 NPCBanterPack v8). And I have encountered a similiar problem. Starting in the area after Candlekeep Imoen initiates dialogue and says she's leaving. Then she leaves and secondes later she again initiates dialogue and joins again. In this area it happened only once or twice. The same in the next area (between The Friendly Arm and Beregost) and in the Friendly Arm area.
But when I entered Beregost this imidiatly happens and it repeates itsself all over and over again. The only option you have is to kick her out. Then she stops, but if you initiate dialogue to get her to join you again, it all starts again. Is this a reputation problem (she is saying something along that line) or is it connected to same incompatibility with the Banter Pack? Perhaps someone knows a way to make her join again (perhaps using Near Infinity)?

Another thing that a recogniced is that the weapon proficiancies in the Character Information field of the NPC's and the actual boni when using those weapons do not match. For example Xar should have proficiancy with daggers but actually he seems to have proficiancy with the sling.
Perhaps this is corrected after leveling up, have'nt done that yet.

Ok, uninstalled the NPC Banter Pack and it worked. Then I experimented a little to find out which Component exactly the problem is.
1. The first component is called Core Install - this is no problem to install
2. The second is called Phase I Banters - this seems to be the troublemaker
3. The Next ist Phase II Quests and Interjections - works
4. Acellerated Banter script - not installed, do not know if it works or not
5. Change Unarmored Male Human Rogue Appearance - not installed
6. Change Unarmored Female Human Rogue Appearance - not installed
7. Edwin portrait - installed, no problem
8. Imoen portrait - installed, no problem
9. Jaheira portrait - installed, no problem
10. Minsc portrait - installed, no problem
11. Viconia portrait - installed, no problem
12. Non-joinable character portraits - installed, no problem
13. Coran's Romance - installed, no problem
14. Player Initiated Dialogue - not installed

So, it seems to be the actual banters which do not work with the rest.

Oh, and the weapon proficiencies are all right. Played to much D&D 3rd P&P and confused both systems :rolleyes:

Well, I don't know what messes up Imoen as I'm way past that part, but Jaheira leaves the group if I have "Quests & Interjections" installed. I can have "Banters" installed and Jaheira doesn't raise any fuss.

I put a fix for this "leave if no valid triggers" on the NPCBG1BGT back in the early version. I'm certain that I and SirBillyBob had exchanged those fixes. Methinks they didn't make it into the v8 just released.

I just encountered another bug with the NPC Banter-Pack, now with part 3 - the quest and interjections part.
Started the Silke quest in Beregost. Talked to Garrick and followed him Silke. But when I then talk to her, she only says her first sentence, something about "the only mercenaries found for 300 gold" and then the conversation stops and I can't intiate dialouge again with her (she's busy).
Install the quest-part of the NPC Banter-Pack and now the Silke-quest works.

So it seems the only compatible parts of the Banter-Pack are the changed pictures :(

I'm pretty sure I had the whole mod installed and I could do that quest fine. It's probably a certain NPC you had in combination with the mod. I had already gotten rid of Imoen at that point because of the problems I had had earlier with her. Maybe Imoen is supposed to say something there and you had her in your group.
