I have played the party of eight subquest in "check the bodies", where you can control eight additional characers for the duration of the quest...(green circle) and really, going with eight plus your regular party of six seriously is annoying...you really only kinda control them, you can't access their inventory, only their quick bar...and the ai is kinda goofy with that many friendlies...not to mention they scatter all over the place, and generally are a royal pain...

I have had as many as 26 demons in my party in Ascension, you can use their spells and tell them who to attack, but that is about all you can do with them.

Don't see how that would be a problem (not being able to access quick bar), beyond my normal 6 people, anybody else is hired help and can keep their items, can't be bothered to tinker with them.

Pretty much anything green-circled and party-controlled can be ordered into "formation", although I've noticed the engine gets pretty random about how it decides to place more than a couple of such controlled creatures.
Pocket Plane mods and modlist etc.
