I got a PM today asking explanation of the LR last component: 'restore Irenicus's original portrait'. So I decided to answer in the forum and pin this topic.

The Longer Road default portrait is this one:

the portrait you will get if you use the last component (i.e. restore old in-game portrait) is:

The reason for using new portrait ( one from Bio's poster) was that I personally like it better, and if the player choses to redeem Jon his 'new face' will be based on the Bio poster.

Freedom cannot be equated with goodness, virtue, or perfection. Freedom has its own unique self-contained nature; freedom is freedom ? not universal goodness. Any confusion or deliberate equalization of freedom with goodness and excellence is in itself negation of freedom, and acceptance of the path of restraint and enforcement.

Well, to be honest, i like both, but if you forces me to choose one, i'd rather the LR default portrait
Where men gather, a bustle of chaos ensues. I would save them all, if I could.

I've always wondered - what's up with Irenicus' portrait? I'm told that he wears a mask for some reason, but I can't quite figure it out - it doesnt look like he's wearing a mask, it looks like he's just got this sort of bronze peice covering the back of his head and ears, and his face is scarred but not covered. I can't quite figure it out.

Why does Irenicus wear a mask anyway?

Personally, I think I like the Longer Road portrait better than the original, simply because it pictures him full front, looking forward, which is how the other Bioware NPCs are pictured. It bugs me when a mod NPC's portrait doesn't reasonably resemble the other NPCs. It sticks out. The original was good when Irenicus was the bad guy who didn't actually join the party, but if he joins it would be annoying for him to be the only one with an alternate pose.

To make it match even more, you could zoom out a little. Irenicus' head is a little bigger relative to the frame than the Bioware NPCs. Just my two cents.

I prefer the ingame (not the LR default) because it looks better, for the colors

I prefer the LR default, but I use a slightly zoomed out version, linked below. The change is minor, but it makes his portrait stand out less.

I prefer "my version".

This is consistent with the portraits of good Irenicus.
