I need help with ARW000 each time I try to go there game crashes.
This is WereIsland south. I tried opening it in DLTC and it will not show the map and say it will not load wed because Door2001 is off the map it is at 1663, 1423.
Is there any way I can change this setting and does anyone know what it really should be?
I have not had a problem getting to the island before. I used the old monster till version 94 without a problem.
I tried placing ARW000 from version 94 in folder but it did not work. DLTC still says there is a problem with it. The size of the file in 94 is 21+m and 99 has it at 7+m so it is catching an error somewhere.
I can clue to the north side of the island with no problem.
It is just odd I can get there using older versions but not the newest one.
I can live without WereIsland if I have to.
But does anyone have any ideas, other then to say I'm screwed with a corrupted file.

Did you get any WeiDU exception errors (those Windows ones where it asks you whether you want to send an error report) during the final DOS installation? If so, you could have a corrupted TIS file, which means you may have to reinstall. If you didn't then I am not exactly sure what is going on. Placing TIS files in the override will not help because you also have to hex delete the TIS 24-bit header, unless you know how to do that of course. In this case you can do the 0.94 replace you described above.

Humm, I didn't recall any errors but I will check it out again and look at the log.

If there were then I thought they might be the kind that were trying to rename or pack something that wasn't important. I am not sure but I think at one point there was an error that said it caused a fault and had to shut down and send report to MS. but it did not close but kept running.

I'm going to be gone a few days and when I get back I'll run the install again to see if it happens again if so I'll rerun 94 and swap files.

If all else fails then I will have to learn to do the editing, etc.

thanks

You will have a tis that is wrong, the program starts up once for each area so that is why it keeps running. Did you have any BG cd in the drive? Even a BGII or ToB CD can cause problems extracting information from BG1 and the first time you find out is (at least when I forgot to take out the CD :wall: ) is when KD's program tries to convert the TIS to BG2 format.

I did that one time so I have have remembered not to do it. But one thing has bothered me and I forget to do it once in awhile (but I can not comfirm it) is that I have a USB drive and when it is on it seems that now and then I get an error as if it is reading it as a CD drive. Other time everything goes ok.

Well, I'm going to write me a list to make sure everything that shouldn't be on is off and all disks are out. Can't do it now but when I get back.

Thanks for the reminder tho because after a fresh install you forget to take disk out. :P
