I am getting ready to install BGT with dsotsc and ntotsc.  I downloaded v172 and v132 respectively.  When i started reading the Read Me for BGT it said to use ntotsc v2.01b or above.  Where is this.  I looked on the mirror & did not see it.  Or should I just use v172 and V132.  Sorry if I missed this answer elsewhere, but I did look.

2.01b is the last version of the original NTotSC mod. That mod is not compatible with BGT as far as I know. It installs onto BG1/TotSC. I am not sure if BGT's install can suck in non-BG1 files in the Baldur's Gate folder of your computer.

My mistake, I'll fix it up.

Does it have fixes/upades that are not in 172/132?

The BGT readme is a bit confusing, its one of the reasons I installed Nej2.

I would suppose not, since that NTotSC is for the original BG.

Tell me what else is confusing about the readme so I can fix it up.

basicly the section about installing extra mods with BGT-weidu. It says to install TDD SOS TS and Nej2 in that order. Nej2 isnt compatable at all but the readme seems to imply it is. Also TS wasn't until the new TS6.04 which just came out. I'm assuming its safe to install with TDD and Sos? Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Now from reading KD's posts it seems that Nej2 will have to be installed first in its raw form and then all other mods will have to be made compatable with it.

It also mentions BP1.7 which is not out yet.
CTB 1.5 is mentioned but it doesnt really work right until the weidu version is made.
It also mentions ntotsc 2.01b and to install it after BGT, but if nts2 is only for the original BG then youd probably want to install it there first.

I realise that BGT and the new weidu mods are in beta form and this was probably written for the finished product. Until that point newbies will continue to have questions about what, when, where, and how to install. There is new and old information all over the site, forums, and documentation in the mods themselves. It is difficult to figure out which is which if you just come here new. Again, that is usually the nature of a beta testing environment so its not all that big of a dea.

NTotSC2.01 is for a basic BG1/TotSC install only, and includes a version of DSotSC. It isn't WeiDU and not for BGT.

For BGT WeiDU use DSotSC1.72 and NTotSC1.32.

Hope this helps... :whistling:

Well, the readme implies it is because BGT-WeiDU is compatible with NeJ2 (i.e. if you install BGT-WeiDU with NeJ2 only). The problem is NeJ2 may not be compatible with TDD/SOS. I think the readme mentions that you must check compatibility between the other mods before you install them. I'll try and make that kind of thing clearer.

Also TS wasn't until the new TS6.04 which just came out. I'm assuming its safe to install with TDD and Sos? Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Again BGT-WeiDU is compatible with TS6.03 and higher like the above (i.e. BGT-WeiDU is compatible with TS6.03 if you use them together only). Again, TS6.03 can have issues when used with TDD/SOS.

I guess I get a little worried mentioning cross-compatibility between TDD/SOS/TS/NeJ because things may change in the future, and the compatibility between these mods (excluding BGT-WeiDU) is not really something that BGT-WeiDU talks about, although I guess that mentioning the mega-modification somewhat damns that into hypocrisy. I guess I'll just remove that bit from the readme altogether.

Now from reading KD's posts it seems that Nej2 will have to be installed first in its raw form and then all other mods will have to be made compatable with it.

That's a new development I believe.

It also mentions BP1.7 which is not out yet.
CTB 1.5 is mentioned but it doesnt really work right until the weidu version is made.

I'll chop those out until specific developments are made. But again, if you use CtB and BGT-WeiDU only, they are compatible.

It also mentions ntotsc 2.01b and to install it after BGT, but if nts2 is only for the original BG then youd probably want to install it there first.

No no, don't use it at all, as said by grogs and SBB. This is a genuine error. Do what the others say and I'll fix it up.

Hope that clears things up for some people, IF they find this post among all the other differentially speaking ones. This one takes precedence as of 4 Nov 2005.

Your welcome, these mods are like a dream come true for a BG fan.

Maybe it would be easier to understand if the readme listed all the main types of mod combinations you could use, like:

Baldurdash 1.5, TDD-weidu v1.5, Sos weidu v1.5, TS-BPv6.04, BGT-weidu

Nej2, TS v6.03, BGT-weidu

Ctb1.5, BGT-weidu

Assuming all of that is correct and in the best install order.

I'm also assuming Dsotsc1.72, Ntotsc1.32, BG1Npcv9, Sobh2.0, and Revised worldmap3b can be added ontop of any of these configurations, if not then it might be good to specify which they can and cant be added to as well.

As far as I know, these mods work with everything else. I haven't had anyone tell me there is an issue between them and any SoA mods.
