From TobEx:

tb#tweaks is currently at 2.50, and the component is "wspatck for all". Updated the readme on bigg.spellholdstudios.net.

Awesome thanks, lots of goodies in 2.5 :coolthumb:

In you TobEx you said:

Weapon Specialization Does Not Provide Extra Attacks for Non-Fighters (tb#tweaks)

but the documentation states:

This component will give attack per round bonuses to all characters according to WSPATCK.2da (that is, half an attack at 7th level, a full attack at 13th).

That's not the same, is it? Is there a way to give a non-fighter (multi-class and swashy only, right?) the extra +½ APR for Specialization, but not gain the extra +1 for reaching level 7 & 13?

That's why I said 'close enough' (the 'only for ** and up' is IMHO better, because it ensures that ALL characters will get a real bonus for that second star, rather than just 1/2 attack per round).

That said, it's possible (without requiring further EXE hacking) to alter that tb#tweaks component so that it works as per your specification (+1/2 at 7th and 13th warrior, +1/2 for specialization and extra +1 for grand mastery).

Coded (it installs, but not tested in game, and don't know how it'll interact with multi classes); you can get the beta with this implemented by navigating a bit from the git link in my sig. If you can't find the download link there, you shouldn't mess around with beta software ;)

And tested.

- Fighters/Paladins/Rangers get +1/2 attack per round at 7 and 13 (multi/biclass characters only get this bonus if one of their parts is a F/P/R and it is of the correct level).
- Everybody gets +1/2 ApR if they're specialized, and an extra +1 if True Grandmastery is installed.
- Stacks correctly with Improved Haste, Belm-like weapons, ranged weapons, or Whirlwind Attack (provided that you install ToBEx, which this subcomponent won't install without).

The only problem is that F/P/R now receive the level-based bonus to ApR even in weapons they have no proficiency in (whereas in BG2 fighters require at least a single * to get the level-based bonus). Also, I made a couple of assumptions regarding the status of some files when installing the mod - if the assumptions don't hold, you'll receive a visible failure (so that you can report the failure to me and I'll fix the problem).

Way cool bigg! The behaviour "Everybody gets ApR from proficiency, only Warriors from level" (from the .tra) is exactly what I wanted. And just to be clear, the way vanilla worked was "Only warriors get ApR from proficiency and level"?

- Who, other than true-class warriors (not counting 'un-nerfed mastery for multi-class' tweaks) could gain the +1 ApR from True Grandmastery? Archers?
- Somewhat related; do ranged weapons (thrown & launched) gain ApR from proficiency and level?

I'll give it a whirl on a "standard" Fixpack/BGT/SR/IR/SCS/aTweak installation.

Yes.

Anybody who has 5* in a weapon style (well, Monks still aren't effect from this tweak, since they need to use different calculations to work). In vanilla BG2 only Archers and single/bi-class Fighters could place 5* in a weapon, but some modded non-Fighter kits can place 5* in weapons, and some modded creatures might come with an 'illegal' proficiency level in a weapon (for ex. Yikari comes with 2* in Katana, but wouldn't receive the +1/2 attack per round because of the hardcoded Monk exception, while Gavin BG2 used to come with 2* in War Hammer and receives +1/2 attack per round).

- Somewhat related; do ranged weapons (thrown & launched) gain ApR from proficiency and level?

Yes.

EDIT: the two versions that were available in 2.50 can be installed mid-game, but the new one only works if you don't have any F/P/R of level 7 or higher.

Just curious - Has anyone played with "3rd edition style Strength"?

The encounter with the 2 Ogrillons at South Beregost Road was quite jarring; with their 18/50 strength, the Ogrillons had +4 THAC0 and +4 damage (averaging 10 damage) and thus Ajantis/Kagain didn't stand a chance.

Any balance issues with the above component?
