Halflings and gnomes would be cool as NPCs, especialy in pairs and trios :) .

Halflings, I believe, are actually the second most numerous Player-race in all of Faerun.

Hrmmm... there's also the fact that humans, and to a lesser degree half-elves and elves make up the main population of Faerun, at least the adventuring part.

(Emphasis mine) ^.^

...I always think the monster races are a bit cheap to choose as a race, kind of like drow. They come packed with the possibility for a troubled past, play the racial understanding card, or are (in the drow case) unconvincingly evil and sexy. As I said, cheap.

I mostly agree with this; particularly, I don't like Drow much. They seem to mostly wind up as either near-caricature melodramatic villains or, like Drizzt, near-caricature melodramatic (and tortured) heroes. More cardboard for the baler, either way.

"Tyranny is a quiet thing at first, a prim and proper lady pursing her lips and shaking her head disapprovingly, asking, well what were you doing (wearing that dress, walking home at that hour, expressing those inappropriate thoughts) anyway? It's subtle and insidious, disguised as reasonable precautions which become more and more oppressive over time, until our lives are defined by the things we must avoid. She's easy enough to agree with, after all, she's only trying to help -- and yet she's one of the most dangerous influences we face, because if she prevails, it puts the raping, robbing, axe-wielding madmen of the world in complete control. Eventually they'll barely need to wield a thing, all they'll have to do is leer menacingly and we fall all over ourselves trying to placate them." -godlizard

I agree that elves are overused, but humans are important considering thay are the main race. How about more dwarves? they tend to be under used.

Uniqueness is good, even though humans have the biggest population (or at least most wide-spread) in all of Faerun. I'm not sure how many demons, vampires, undead, tieflings and drow I can see without losing interest, however...

Personally, I'd love more halflings, gnomes, dwarves...and maybe a half-orc or two. I really like the look of Andyr's Elai, what with the new City of Shades half-elf thing and all. Just another half-elf? Not how I see it. I've yet to see a (half) sea elf, svirfneblin, duergar, half-giant...but I ramble on. Every modder should make what he/she feels he/she wants to do. In my case, it's Wikaede Revisited. Figured the only single-classed cleric needs an upgrade. ^_^ Oops, exposed! *runs*

I know this topic is kind of old, but just in case anyone didn't know, Nethrin has a dwarf cleric NPC over at Chosen of Mystra.

Old topics are good, especially when people barely post in the new ones...

I'll have to take a look.

Hm, so an Elf F/M/T with 18 Int, 19 Dex and using my own name, picture and voice is right out, huh? :-)
How 'bout a Half-Orc Cleric/Thief, then?
