Help, i cant start a new game

i installed BP and now whenever i try to start a new game, about halfway through loading it brings up a blue screen that says "FATAL ERROR: PLEASE INSERT BALDURS GATE DISK 1"

i cant figure out what to do, if any1 can help that would b great
