I'm new to the whole mod scene and I was looking around this site and came across BP + BGT which sounded exactly what I was looking for. I have BG1 and TotSC as well as BG2 and the ToB expansion. Though as I said, I am a bit new at this and I have found several topics here covering how to make BP + BGT work, so I am a bit confused on which one to follow. So if you can, can someone point me in the right direction? A link or some such? I'm looking for a way to tie all the games together, with as many new additions and features as possible while trying to maintain decent compatibility through out. I don't mind a bug or two, well, as long as the game doesn't crash or freeze, its all good in my book.

Also the second question for those who are expieranced at such matters. What mods do you like or use that arn't included in BP+BGT? I have been reading these forums and came across several great mods that I might try out in the future, so I'm asking of those with more expierance to see what they think.

Thanks,
John

Well your right, I would have more questions so I registered :) Well, install doesn't seem that hard. I was just confused before since I found around three different topics or so about installing BP+BGT. So I was wondering what was the latest and stable one to follow.

Though I'm looking to make the most out of the game, I had BG 1 and 2 and their expansions for a while, though never really beat the game or got far for that matter since after my laptop got fried years ago, I lost the game though recently uncovered the CD's so I'm giving it another shot. I do have a question for you Azazello, I followed that link in your signature and was wondering if those mods worked with the latest BP+BGT with no (or minor) problems?

Hate to say it but-

No, there are (minor/major) problems with not only my own list but even the ones that are fully and excellently described in the various guides.

I have the (good?) fortune that I can hack my way thru fixing/working around most of the issues that affect my lists. Even then, I am prepared for more, hopefully minor, problems that will occur within the game. And they will be there...

I would advise you to NOT go with a MegaInstall. This is no personal insult to you. I feel that given your experience with the game, you should try a "miniInstall", that way you get some experience playing with a lot of smaller mods, will get used to dealing with smaller level problems, and most importantly, can spend more time playing and enjoying the game than banging your head against a wall due to some frustrating problems.

So, what's a miniInstall. Really, it's just BG2 +/- ToB + some NON-MegaInstall mods.

So if you look at the second list from my signature, that is "miniMegaInstall" - because it has Reign of Terror (RoT) in it. If you removed RoT, then it would be a miniInstall.

Try that, to get started. Whatever help you need, post here and we all help you out.
