Hi Celestine! Hey, thanks a lot for the review <_< I swear there'll be more Chama and Valen. I'll try real hard to post a new chapter before I get cut off from the world for 6 weeks in my boat headed for the North-West Passage. Damn. I wonder if people will remember me and my stories after a month and a half of absence!

I wouldn't say it was a matter of people caring to read, but rather them finding the time to also comment on it.

You're absolutely right. It's just my despondent nature coming to the surface, thinking that when no one says a word it's because no one read it, but you're right, reviewing does take some more time. Especially the constructive reviews :)

My answer is this: if, listening to that music, you don't get that overwhelming rush of power that makes the hair stand at the back of your neck, you may never will. But you know what, it doesn't really matter. Because, judging from the 40 000 people around me, we're doing just fine without ya." :) Cheers! And two horns up for metalheads all around the world!

Heh, killing a dracolich surely is easier said than done. Still nice work DD :)
It did confuse with perspectives about halfway through, but that problem was cleared up near the end.

Still nice to see Chama and Valen are not nessecaryily *there* just yet, meh they never get there anyways, but nice to see Valen's thoughts on it at least. ^_^

Suprising how civil the whole Drow business seemed, well... about AS civil as that can I guess.

Anyways in short I'm giving ya a good review and a "keep it up" message. :D
Enjoy your trip to Canada DD, and do be sure to bring back some ice from the ice-breaker.

Hey DalreiDal! Here's your review :).

I absolutely adored your last chapter. Not only was the battle scene and the interactions between the three of them well done, the scene with Gulhrys was beautifully done. Similarly, Valen's thoughts at the very end, especially his last line, was an incredible way to end the chapter.

Good luck for your trip! I hope you enjoy it.

I'll check that confusion with perspective... er... well... as soon as I get a chance, I promise :)

There... you mean... Ah, come on! Don't be impatient ;)

You mean, the scene with Gulhrys? I certainly wouldn't have called Nathyrra's words *civil*, but then I guess it's more civil than her dagger ;)

Anyways in short I'm giving ya a good review and a "keep it up" message. :D

Well, as a matter of fact, I'll probably bring back some ice, only it will be seawater ice, not from the icebreaker. Still, I should bring back some pictures too :) Thanks a lot for the review, it's appreciated :)

Hey, thanks Shadowhawke. I have to heave a big sigh of relief that you thought the battle scene was okay. I did a big effort to keep the gamespeak out of it - except in Chama's talks, but that could not be helped. Glad you like the finale; next chapter the story takes a turn (won't surprise the gamers too much, but those who haven't played the game might be in for a nasty surprise).

Thanks for the review :) I'll be back in two months with a new chapter :)

You're not here for 2 months? Dang, DalreïDal, I'll sorely miss your chapters. The last one is great as usual and I laughed to read the drow wizard gets snubbed. Someone needs to put him in his place. :P Valen is jealous.

Hey Celestine, thanks for reviewing :) It's nice to have a comment like that when you get back. I think it's been close enough to two months... from the 27th of october to now, November 30th. But I'm back now! You know, the Arctic really is beautiful, and now I've seen some multi-year ice before it's all melted down. This year was an exceptionally low ice year, and we almost went right through Melville Sound from Resolute because it was all clear of ice when it's usually jammed with old pack ice. And I've seen polar bears :) and arctic foxes and ravens (did you know they go as up north as the 80th parallel???) and raucous gulls and ptarmigans and Icelandic gulls and dovekies! Lots of birds I wouldn't see in Québec, or would see only rarely (ptarmigans do come south inside Québec province when the weather is execrable farther north).

Onto more relevant matters, there should be a new chapter up next week :)

Of course the drow wizard had to get snubbed. I thought about giving Valen the pleasure of doing so, but thought it more fitting if it was Chama herself who did it. Now Valen knows he has no reason to be jealous ;)

Hey Shadowhawke :)

The trip was extraordinary in all aspects - work, nature, and social. I've worked like crazy, I've gone for lunch before the sun has risen and for supper after it's set, I've sampled water at -1.8C, I've seen polar bears - real ones, live ones, free ones - I've lived with 80 wonderful people from all over the world for 6 weeks. We were on a boat but we had a bar and we had a disco party and a Halloween party. Damnit, you come on board with almost nothing but the clothes on your back, and people came up with excellent disguises. I've got 15 Gig worth of pictures and videos. I was thinking on putting up some of my best pictures in the Rec room, but then, who'd be really intersted except me ;)

Maybe I will take my frozen face besides the ptarmigan as my new avatar, though, lol.

Anyway, thanks for letting me know you haven't forgotten about my stories even in two months of absence, and I promise a new chapter of OotDatM for next week...

Wow. Just wow. That last chapter was wonderful, DalreiDal... both Nathyrra's experiences as well as Valen and Chama facing the enemy. Beautifully and heartbreakingly written... I had a smile on my face at Valen's words near the end of the chapter, both bittersweet and strong and so well portrayed. I really can't wait until the next chapter now, my friend! Wonderful, wonderful work. ^_^

Hey Maekir, thanks for taking the time to post another review for just another new chapter. I was expecting you to wait another twenty chapters or so before I heard of you again ;) Thanks for the encouragement!

Nice work with the history of the Nine Hells and Abyss DalreiDal, it will be interesting to see how the next parts play out, what with a tanar'ri half-breed in hostile territoy and all, despite the defeat of stereotypical ash and dust hellplanes. :D

All I can say, is that they should glad they didn't land on any of the neutral lower planes, they make the Abyss and Baator planes seem mild in comparison when it comes to cruelty and malice. :)

Hope you get well soon btw, and nice work once more. :)

Hello!

Your cold sounded terrible, DalreiDal. *pat, pat*.

*snif* Danks, danks. Seriously, though, I'm OK now. :)

Thanks for hanging in there, friend, and delivering us this great new chapter. :). Yay, another newfound fan of NWN!!! Though the playability of the OC suffered from the very limited size of the party, I still liked the plot. And not to mention Aarin Gend's fabulous voice-acting *swoon*. Though my favourite part of the game is without hesitation HotU - sorry, but I'm guilty of power-gaming tendencies, so I really liked kicking ass at level 25 or so. The plot, the joinable NPCs, the occasions for powning... really the best part of the game. Sorry that I spoiled you quite a bit of it by now... :( I hope you don't appreciate the game any less because you've gotten the plot outline already.

Nice work with the history of the Nine Hells and Abyss DalreiDal, it will be interesting to see how the next parts play out, what with a tanar'ri half-breed in hostile territoy and all, despite the defeat of stereotypical ash and dust hellplanes. :D

I admit you best me in FR lore here. The neutral lower planes??? What would that be? I thought they pretty much had it covered between the Abyss and the Nine Hells. Though I think it somewhat more interesting to have a half-demon in the devils' realm than in a neutral plane. Mind you, I like Valen too much to make the Hells fall down on his head, but still he's going to face a few devils before he's out of Baator. *evil author grin  *

Thanks to you both for reviewing :)

Well I don't really know *that* much about it, but two examples would include Gehenna (Also known as the Grey Waste) and then Canceri, which is slightly more on the chaotic side but still Neutral Evil in essence.

Gehenna - Populated mainly by the Yugoloths, one of the more fearsome creatures of the lower planes. Unlike Canceri, four volcanoes in stages of dormancy floating in an infinite void, each of them somehow alive and tempting travellers. To get your soul by any means possible - or some other such. :)
In addition - Gehenna is also a no-place that drains color from your body and spirit, stealing everything possible, and it's also the site of the worst or most twisted battlegrounds in the Blood War.

Canceri - Poisonous jungles, acid swamps, destructive waters, strung like a string of rotten pearls nestled within one another. Essentially a prison plane - home to the gehreleths, one of the more dangerous types of demons. Canceri is also called the Red Prison - because it is as strong with it's strength sapping as the strength of those imprisoned. Being there, is a poison apparntly, you get weaker as you go, similar to the effects of the Grey Waste (Gehenna).

That's all I really know, and much of that was gathered by Planescape Torment, but a few other sources may help too.

http://en.wikipedia....iki/Outer_Plane Outer planes information thanks to Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoloths Information on the predominants of the Grey Waste

Hope some of this is of use. :)
I very much look foward to see where this story will head next.

Edit: Typos, must hurt typos! <_<

Awesome new chapter, DalreiDal. I'm currently in the second chapter of the official NWN campaign (although don't worry, I already got a little spoilered by a friend), and the heartfelt way you dealt with your subject really shone through. I've had a soft spot for that character the instant I saw her in-game, and you've portrayed her so stunningly well here. Kudos again, my friend, and I can't wait for the next chapter! ^_^.

Hi again!

Solar's Harper:
Ah, I think I may have heard of Gehenna before... the battlefield of the Blood Wars, suddenly rings a bell. I'm about to begin playing Planescape, so I guess I'll be gleaning this information myself soon :) I don't really plan on writing something regarding the Lower Planes just yet, but if I do, I'll remember Canceri and Gehenna :)

Shadowhawke:
*phew* I didn't want to be the one to break it out on you... I played NWN without any sorts of spoilers, which contributed much to my enjoyment of the OC... though I'd been spoiled a bit about HotU, but since it doesn't have such an unexepcted plot twist, it didn't matter that much. I hope you'll keep liking my representation of Aribeth in coming chapters... (pressure's on now!)

Thanks a lot for reviewing!
