I've created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death.
Nor known to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So as i pray, "Unlimited Blade Works."--Archer from Fate/Stay Night

Did you try Control-R, or equivalent if using a Mac?
Yes i did. But with no effect.
or just cast a restoration spell...
Also done. No effect.
The only thing i can do is use a potion so my char has a strength of for example 22. At least i am able to move on then.

This has happened to me with trolls and sometimes spells (like sphere of chaos). It would affect a stat or alignment. Try resting a couple of times or using the cntr-t on clua console. In my case restoration didn't work, or heal. Double check with shadowkeeper if that doesn't work to see if the stat has been permanently affected. If you lost a round in the game with him it should go away, try a dispel magic.
I checked the stats using shadowkeeper and it shows my normal strength of 19. So my strength has not been affected permanently. Also i tried everything my spell arsenal has to offer -> heal, dispel magic, greater dispelling, lesser restoration, restoration. Also i tried several potions. I rested a few times and skipped at least 20 days of play time using ctrl-t.
so wtf is going on?

Only thing left is something bound to real time playing. Maybe i should play on for some hours and see what happens. But i am running out of potions raising my strength

Do you have a save from before playing the game with Aesgareth? Play the game again??

Rubberduck,
Do you have a save from before playing the game with Aesgareth? Play the game again??
Sure, but that's way before that situation. Guess what i intend not to do

Maybe i'll do this anyway. Just as a final solution. But that's not how it should be or am i wrong?

Since you have shadowkeeper, try looking at the active effects. In my case there were some freaky things happening there, like Improved Invisibility turned on. The result was that it was impossible for me to cast spells on my party members, even after resting, ctrl + r etc.
how do i find out? Is it under the global varieties? How do see which varities affects the reduction of my chars strength?
Remove curse.
was thinking of that too. But nothing says that i am cursed. I'll visit a temple right after finishing the watcher's keep.

Yes, IIRC, it was remove curse that did the trick for me. You do not have to go to a temple though, the cleric / druid spell should be enough (I sm thinking of druid, because I believe that I had Jaheira cast it on me back then)
Strange. I thought i looked thru all possible (and available) spells my npc could cast (Viconia, Jaheira and Immy).
Must have overlooked something

Do you know which level the spell requires?

Viconia should have it for certain.

Thankfully Vicci had the spell in her book. Just had to learn and use it.
So wtf the game didn't give any hints? The chars data sheet said nothing regarding curse, level drain or spell influence.
This is a role playing game and no damn riddle

Anyway many thx for your help. Next question is sure to come
