I'm just getting ready to play your mod for the first time after hearing such high praises Anyway, my question is, since Edwin, Maevar etc play a role in your mod.....is it possible to romance Edwin and still have it play out correctly? I read somewhere someone said they killed Edwin in order for it to proceed as it should. Is this true? I would hate to have to kill him

There's a way to avoid it without having to kill him. About the time that the option for the finale turns up, you get an in game hint that you may want to check with some party members.

Reject the chance to go straight to Finale, and go leave the Guildhouse. Some characters will start to talk. Along the way, wait for Kova & Kiyone to comment on Edwin. On the next Rest, talk to Edwin and some options will come up. Only if you choose the right Option, will he remain with you. However he will leave the party for a little while, in that case.

Oh don't worry, I have at least someone I know who did the Edwin Romance without problems in BTL, though its a bit.. unrealistic, as his conversation at that point in time assumes that he has 0 feelings for you.

As for him leaving for a while, the only time required to get him back is the time it takes to travel to Aran and start the final part of BTL.

You know, it's funny you said that because I decided to go ahead and get him anyway and, his romance didnt start like it's suppose to when you kill Maevar. I thought maybe it wasnt suppose to with this mod but, if your friend romanced him......maybe I need to reinstall his mod hmmmmm. Havent been playing BG very long inspite of how long its been out

Edwin's Romance starts if and only if you kill Mae'var with Edwin in party in that room below. So, if this hasn't been accomplished, the romance won't start, unless you cheat.

Yes, I know I did that. And he is suppose to make a comment about Maevar being worm food but, he didnt I reinstalled his mod and still nothing. bummer. I so love his romance

I didn't look at the mod's variables, but I seem to remember that there may have been some alignment restrictions or some such on the PC? If those triggers didn't set at beginning of SoA, it could lead to such problems.

Aside from that, maybe you can start the romance manually yourself by finding the EdwinRomance variable.

I know that there is an intelligence requirement did you check that? I don't remember what it is but he wants a smart gal. Also once or twice I had to redo the MaeVar fight because his dialog didn't kick in so maybe that will work for you?

Didn't want to start a new thread. But I found it difficult to bring this to a 'happy ending'. I'm in ToB now but I think I had to increase one of the variables in SoA because no matter what I tried I could't meet Seida. When I cheated to meet Seida and turned him over to Brega it still didn't give me a happy ending.

I'm on dial-up so I'm using what I dl'd last summer 8/06 when I had access to a faster dl manager. Where did I go wrong? -- I had most of the clues. I defeated Seida with tje rune stones or so I thought and gave him to Brega but still no luck. I got a lot of clues from the readme but you can imagine my impatience. Stilll, great mod, requires you to think and keep re-checking the journal entries. Version I'm running is 1.3 Some of the stuff I read in the forums said there is a bug somewhere so on my next pass I'd like to bring this to a happy ending.

You probably missed meeting Kharen in Brynnlaw after Spellhold. You need to set the variables so that you meet Saemon Havarian after defeating Irenicus, where he says "Gone with (blah blah)" and then choose to be teleported to Brynnlaw.

No - I did meet Kharen in Brynlaw after Spellhold. Kova and Kiyone were both killed during that encounter I recall. Mayhap that caused a variable not to be set. I'll try again on my next pass through SOA-TOB. Was very intriguing. Besides loving fantasy I adore mysteries. Thank you -- your mod makes the player THINK.

Prob can take a look at talking to Bylanna before the Trial, there'll be an option to Meet Brega's Witness if you've finished the 3 Segments of BTL and Met Kharen
