Since it appears I have upload privileges for this forum (and I've just been pinged about this), I'll be uploading a version containing exclusively the translations that have been sent to me / this forum, a readme not in .doc format, and/or any bugfix that might be needed.

Please post a link in this topic to
- translations that aren't incorporated in the mod.
- bug reports not solved in the official version.

Currently listed:
- French Translation
- Italian Translation

Also, an inconsistency has been reported to me: the readme file states (twice) that "selecting the class" will give a -X to Dexterity and Constitution, while the files only give a -Y to both, and the item description says -Y too. (I won't say by which amount, because I don't want people to choose the option which will give less penalties). Please discuss about which is a better sign of Developer Intent.

I think it can be either. It could be that the class was overpowered at first and then toned down, which might have been forgotten in the process of writing the readme, or it could have been the other way round. Personally, I would stick to what is in the game and change the readme, which is easier and sticks to the value that is stated in two different sources(ingame description and the actual effects) rather than just one (though twice). Less likely to have been a simple mistake. BTW-is it somehow possible to ask the actual author?

Last seen: 2005. I hear SConrad was still talking to him (though that was around 2005 as well), but not about IE games.
Also, even if he was still active, he'd likely have problems remembering if in 2004 he wanted an item to give -X or -Y to dexterity and costitution.

I last talked to Bob a few (2-3?) months back. He's well, but I doubt he'll come back to this part of cyberspace anytime soon.

As for your question, I have no idea what his intent was. It's possible that he wrote the readme separately and thought he had applied the X penalty, while in fact it was Y. I'd go with Y, since that actually was the number he used in the game files.
