Wow d00d ur m0d r0xx!1!!1one!eleven

Ok, jokes 'bout opening advices aside (but it really rocks!) just a note on the Chosen of Cyric encounter.

Heh, thanks. :)

First thing, please note that the CoC encounter requires a 6 char party but if the pc is engaged in a romance, after defeating Bodhi the party's down to 5 (in my game, Aerie's the one who got vampirized).

There's a workaround for that. See here for more details.

The opening dialogue was just great. No other words could describe it. As already said, I too would love to see other encounters with such good dialogues and use of abilities - both of the main pc and of the party members.

I'm glad you found it enjoyable. :)

In the end I couldn't win the fight once, playing both fair or cheesing.

No worries, the combat portion of the encounter is fairly difficult, so mastering the battle might require a bit of practice. ;) BTW, the CoC readme contains a lot of tips for defeating the opponents in combat. Also, note the opponents' AI reacts to the difficulty level slider, so lowering the game difficulty might improve your chances a fair bit. For example, Zaeron and Venduris will backstab much less frequently on the "Normal" and "Easy" difficulty settings while Selina and Kerith won't use their most powerful offensive spells in that case.

I'm having some difficulty working out exactly what changes the "Proper racial adjustments for thieving skills" component makes. I've looked at both the RR readme and the BG2 manual, and I still don't know how many points have been lost or gained in a particular area. I appreciate the "numbers which were increased are marked in green, the numbers which were lowered are marked in red" comment, but that doesn't tell me what the values were originally. Because of this, I can't tell whether this component is likely to benefit or penalise my party.

In summary: Elves, Half-Elves and Halflings each lose 5 points from their Move Silently scores, Half-Elves get a +5 bonus to their Detect Illusions score while Half-Orcs get a +5 bonus to their Find Traps score and a 5 point penalty to their Detect Illusion score. Furthermore, everyone now has a base 10% chance to Detect Illusions (before any racial modifiers) rather than 0 as was the case in the unmodded game.

I've looked at both the RR readme and the BG2 manual, and I still don't know how many points have been lost or gained in a particular area.

The table in the BG2 manual does not fully correspond to the values which are used in the actual game. As noted above, Elves, Half-Elves and Halflings all had an undocumented 5 point bonus to their Move Silently scores in-game (i.e. they received an extra 5 points on top of what was described in the manual). This component rectifies that oversight.

Great thanks for clearing that up for me.
