Who and what is Selim Sivad?

I posted this earlier in the gameplay forum. I should have posted it here, no doubt!

I have started a new game with the CtB Fast Forward mod. I am still in Irenicus's dungeon where I have met a very fat, monk-like ghost called Selim Sivad who doesn't want Imoen to cast spells. After her fourth spell-casting he changed from one of the Ghostly Trio to the shade of the Ayatollah Khomeini and became nasty.

He is unkillable. Nothing damages him.

I reloaded and agreed to give him back his magic. Imoen still had all her spells afterwards. Imoen cast one again and Khomeini Sivad reappeared but his circle stayed blue. I tried to talk to him but all I got was a "NO VALID RESPONSE" reply.

I reloaded, cast a spell, Sivad attacked and I hit him with Ctrl-Y ... no more fat monk ghost. Then he respawned two seconds later. Ctrl-Y again and everything seemed OK. Then Imoen used another spell and the fat bugger was back.

I don't want to give him my magic powers even if he doesn't seem to actually take them.

This is the second time I've tried CtB. The first time it bugged out at numerous stages. If you count the bug reports on this forum, are we all doing something wrong or is this just a chronically bug-ridden mod?

Lion Warrior kit for Rangers (which installed but appears to be unselectable as a Ranger kit option

CtB looks like the only one of these mods that could be sending the fat ghost to haunt me. Of course without any documentation I don't even know if Selim Sivad is a part of this mod.


Im experiencing the same phenomena. . its quite annoying especially since half my party are supposed to be arcane casters.

What exactly is the problem? and, perhaps, how could you disable him? (I know i'll probably ruin a quest -__- )

Ohh and another question. . DO I HAVE TO install world map? i dont have BG1 and sword coast installed so im unsure. no tutu/bgt

It's from CtB and yes, you need Worldmap with that mod. Please post your Weidu log. I'm not certain if King Diamond fixed the Selim Bug in the latest version of CtB or not.

It's from CtB and yes, you need Worldmap with that mod. Please post your Weidu log. I'm not certain if King Diamond fixed the Selim Bug in the latest version of CtB or not.

Magic Missile, Chromatic Orb, Shield.

Made a new game, where i tried custom spells that also brought him forth.

Trying to figure out what worldmap to install. .

Use v7.1 and also, what spells did you use to cause Selim to appear?


Magic Missile, Chromatic Orb, Shield.

Made a new game, where i tried custom spells that also brought him forth.


After i made it out of the dungeon, i didnt see him again, not even when using custom spells.

Could someone please just be so kind as to tell me how to disable him?

Don't give Selim your spells and the third time it is a fight. Beat the ghost and you will be free from the harassment. Death ward protections will be the key. I wouldn't disable the script blocks as I do not know what else is tied to this character as far as quests. Have fun in the Academy of Kuldin or as I like to say, Selim's Haunted House from Hell! :devil:

I honestly don't know why this is bugged now as I have never had a problem but I have yet to use Fixpack version 8 and CtB 1.11. There were never any bug reports in the bug thread for 1.9 and I never had a problem.

When this topic was started, Scipio had not installed the fixpack at all before CtB so I assumed that was the reason.

"Beat the ghost?" i tried fighting him again after buffing my characters in the Academy. Didnt have a cleric so no deathward. 3 insta died. ctrl + r = woo.

I dont think i killed him but i. . 'survived' the encounter and he stopped appearing.

Very unlike when i first met him in the dungeon. :/ Strange, ohh. . and now the iron golem bug has appeared, yay for fighitng massive iron golem army >_<*

Got it. Your SPELL.IDS is screwed. Something overwrote it with a different version. Most likely it was TS v6.11 but I'll need to download it and check.... Meantime, you can give this one a shot. It might work properly for you.... might have some really funky outcomes, but it's worth a shot. Make a copy of your existing file somewhere safe, then drop this one in your override and give a saved game from where Selim Sivad showed up where he shouldn't have, and see if it clears up the problem.

disabling him is a pain in the arse if your not keen on the mumbojumbo these cats use in the forums. If u want to kill selim selvad then clua console create item scroll9x .err something and turn into a mindflayer. then just suck out his brains.

Yep, that is the TS version not compatible or at least not supported to go with Check the Bodies. TS-BP 610 here at SHS in the downloads section is the one. Plus TS 611 requires Baldurdash which could explain for the SPELL.IDS mixup.
