Could anybody try that in game to see if that fixes anything in the Arena fight?

I've tried to resolve "all party members are unselectable" bug.

It didn't work. I'm assuming the install for this is to dump the scripts in override correct? I did so and it didn't change the arena fight at all. Everyone still "blue circled"

No I thought that they were BAFs in KD's rar. Substitute them in their corresponding folders and overwrite. They will be installed when the mod is and should be as intended.

Use NI to copy and paste the info in the baf into the corresponding bcs file. Just make certain you only overwrite the needed parts of the bcs (unless it is a completely new area script in it's entirety)

It has all of the display strings in there too, so just deleting all of the MakePlayerUnselectable from the BCS will be the in game fix.

I've also got the "party unselectable bug" at the arena, and I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I wanted to make sure so that I don't mess up my game.

All I have to do is copy the BAFs files in King Diamond's rar and then go to BGII-SoA > POST_INSTALL > RoTerror > BAF folder and then paste to overwriter the previous BAFs, right? Please let me know if I'm following it okay.

Thank you.

We have got the confirmation of a BWP gamer, that he has not the arena bug and he can fight in it.

We install the following fix with the BiG World Fixpack:

Arena bug
blue foot circles Arena
http://www.shsforums...mp;#entry333831
RA4300.BAF
solved by Radagast

But we have a side effect with the Arena and I don't know, if you know this problem:
"But I see the text of the arena criers sometimes even in the maps in which nothing at all has to look (e.g. the text appears in the dungeon of the mod Dungeon Crawler)."

We install the following fix with the BiG World Fixpack:

can't control Drizzt (blue circles again)
http://www.shsforums...mp;#entry342808
MYFICUT2.BAF
solved by qwopsac

But the problem which is mentioned here look like a larger problem. There is mentioned that Entreri is unselectable, but by the gamer where the arena works, is Artemis unselectable at the end of RoT. Could it be, that the end of RoT has different endings, so the unselectable is different, too?

Greetings Leomar

hello, guys!

sorry for ressurect an old topic... And sorry for my english too (ehehehehe)

Recently, I find the two mods about drizzt do'urden and him companions! I really like them. But I have problem with RoT: the old and good - arena blue circles :crying: :crying: :crying:

I read others topics relationed, but I can't find the correct one for mine's BGT weidu 1.10. I got the files here in this post by KD and Leomar. I will try to use the RA4300.bcs posted by DeusEx here http://www.shsforums...player-in-rot/; But I don't know the diference against a .baf and a .bcs file. Anyone could explain it to me? I really greatful.

Friends, I like to solve my problem at arena scripts, when my kensai became blue.

Wow, no BG2fixpack fixpack! This won't be the only bug you will see my friend. I think the short answer to fix this in game is to use a tool called Near Infinity (internet search it and download).

You will open the program and navigate it to your game directory and open the CHITIN.KEY (the only KEY file). All of the game data will show up in the left tree and you can expand the BCS tree. Find the BCS (RA4300) and open. Delete the MakePlayerUnselectable entries (all) compile changes and save it. It will replace the current one.

Please note that the in game fix will remove the blue circle from all party members so disable your party AI. That is about as easy as it gets unless you want to reinstall everything.

Hoppy, thanks for your help!

many others times I have played SoA and ToB, I was used the patched version of them and I only used the Ease of use - My games didn't have any bugs, like the blue circle. This is the only bug a saw in more then 5 years, when I started playing with the original version.

I always played entire games and no bugs.

I'm searching for IE, like you suggest. But I insist, if can u link a post to solve my problems at the arena script? I like to try them... Thanks, one more time.

-EDIT-
P.S: what's the diference about the .baf and .bcs? I saw the two linked in this forum, and I didn't know the correct one, to fix my problem. Now, I use Near Infinity. I will post if it save my game eheheheheh

The BAF is not compiled and the BCS is compiled scripts. You can look at a BAF with text editors and make changes before installation. Many bug fixes are done that way before the mod is updated. That's is how the package in the first post was meant to work as it replaces the existing uncompiled scripts with fixed ones, that's all.

The main problem with no fixpack is that the Worldmap has required the Gibberlings 3 fixpack for travel links. Only two or three areas are usually a problem with crashes but you can CLUA console to those areas and the rest is fine. Worldmap doesn't even work with BAldurdash (the old fixpack) but maybe new versions of Worldmap will, I don't know.

Glad everything worked for you and this was probably the worst bug in RoT and there some minor ones that may not be noticed but a definite crash in Arlax smithy is the other nasty bug. Plenty of posts on that one. :)

I have another question.

Why Drizzt don't have any MAGIC RES?

Balance probably where Drizzt Saga is closer to the Drizzt in the BG1 game. When you exit the dungeon in the beginning with Drizzt and Wulfgar, D says he is weaker. Technically there could be some awesome explanation like Rangers don't have magic resistance in the normal game and the normal game does not have drow playable races, but I think those are a few reasons. :)
