Do you have any other mods installed, open the WeiDU.log with Notepad, and copy paste the content, if you do.

Yeah, ok, I'm confused.

Using 2.6c, NOTHING should happen. Unless I'm insane.

Your char doesn't take fire/magic damage does s/he? (It's been 2 years since I looked at this so... :) )

The reason I ask is because there's two spells tagged as sorcery, one should do nothing, since it's missing the dialog file that triggers the cut scene (and even if dialog file existed it wouldn't do anything, since the cut scenes is pointless) and the other causes fire/magic damage and modifies... fatigue. Oh, and kills ankhegs. Why, I have no idea.

Ergh. I never did understand what the ability was supposed to do... Maybe that's why I left it alone.... But either way, it shouldn't be creating summons like you have.......'

So, yeah, does your char take damage when you use sorcery?

the missing dialog fire is PSQ70

I think this file:
planarspheremod\baf\psglobe5.cre
should be renamed to psglobe5.baf

We use Taimon's "Creature Offset Checker" to correct offsets for better compatibilities in megamods. By Planar Sphere Mod there is the following:

Zeroed effects offset in [planarspheremod\cre\pstest03.cre]
The cre is o.k., but it could give problems, if another mod want to change the cre later (if it want to use the same offset).

Attached is the corrected cre.

How do these things even happen?

I'll see what's up with the psglobe thing, since you are correct, something is screwy there.

Could you explain the zeroed offsets thing, or point me to somewhere that explains it?

Unfortunately, it seems that they changed the DL manager, since I can no longer upload anything since Hlid originally uploaded the file.... I used to be able to upload a new version but now I can't for some reason......

Oh well, I'll ask whoever is in charge of the DL Manager...

Once I do, I'll put in your new cre file Leomar, thanks :)

Normally I told you above about it, but you can look at Taimon's "creature offset checker" TP2 to see what it does. I attached it.

If you wish I could upload it for you. For this case send me a PM.

have just installed the mod but had this warning:
Warning: cannot find block matching [PlanarSphereMod/snip/ar0411SearchBlock.baf]
Firstly, does it matter?
Secondly what to do next?
Thirdly, would it be straightforward to just unistall it as it isn't a top priority at present?
Fourthly is it easy to solve the problem?

Any help much appreciated.  :)

Just remembered that you'll probably need this.

Hm.... It probably means that something modified the AR0411 script before you installed the PSMod. Although, I have no idea which mod is doing that....

Hmm... looking at it now, I have no idea what I was doing with that replacement block. Something's dorked up. Since it looks like it's only adding a check in... what the...

If you have NearInfinity (or some other editor) check the AR0411.bcs script. Near the bottom, it should have this:

IF
Global("SpawnTeosAssasin","GLOBAL",1)
!Dead("MGTEOS01") // Teos
AreaCheckObject("ar0411", Player1)
THEN
RESPONSE #100
SetGlobal("SpawnTeosAssasin","GLOBAL",2)
FadeToColor([30.0],0)
CloseDoor("DoorPool2")
CloseDoor("DoorTreasure2")
Wait(1)
CreateCreatureDoor("MGTEOS01",[2900.2580],0) // Teos
MoveViewPoint([2995.2649],INSTANT)
ActionOverride(Player1,JumpToPoint([2995.2649]))
ActionOverride(Player2,JumpToPoint([2939.2667]))
ActionOverride(Player3,JumpToPoint([2869.2692]))
ActionOverride(Player4,JumpToPoint([3019.2720]))
ActionOverride(Player5,JumpToPoint([2961.2736]))
ActionOverride(Player6,JumpToPoint([2904.2751]))
FadeFromColor([30.0],0)
Wait(7)
ActionOverride("MGTEOS01",StartDialogueNoSet(Player1))
END

Assuming that it does have that, then everything should be fine.

ARGH! I hate not being able to remember why I did things.

Thanks for the reply. I have infinity engine, not that I have ever used it. There's a first time for everything, maybe this is that time. :)

I will have a look at it tomorrow. Thanks again, Grimwald.

Since I'm still a bit unclear on what the heck I was doing....

Anyway, the missing piece seems to be a simply check to make sure that the spawn/dialog doesn't happen in a different area then the one it's supposed to and two door closings. Why that's the case, I have no idea....

Anyway, to fix it, you *should* be able to do this:

IF
	Global("SpawnTeosAssasin","GLOBAL",1)
	!Dead("MGTEOS01")
**	AreaObjectCheck("ar0411", Player1)
THEN
	RESPONSE #100
		SetGlobal("SpawnTeosAssasin","GLOBAL",2)
		FadeToColor([30.0],0)
** CloseDoor("DoorPool2")
** CloseDoor("DoorTreasure2")
		Wait(1)
		CreateCreatureDoor("MGTEOS01",[2900.2580],0) // Teos

That's what you have now, add in the **'d lines in NI, just type them in and save.

Hopefully that will work. And nothing else will go wrong :)

I have made the changes suggested, and in doing so, near infinity came up with seven errors. Also 44 warnings, but they could disappear if I can get rid of the errors.
I think it is the same one over and over again.and I think that it refers to the following:
THEN
	RESPONSE #100
		SetGlobal("psFinalCutsceneToggle","GLOBAL",1)
		ClearAllActions()
		ActionOverride(Player1,LeaveAreaLUA("ARpsq2","",[3093.2752],1))
		ActionOverride(Player2,LeaveAreaLUA("ARpsq2","",[3093.2752],1))
		ActionOverride(Player3,LeaveAreaLUA("ARpsq2","",[3093.2752],1))
		ActionOverride(Player4,LeaveAreaLUA("ARpsq2","",[3093.2752],1))
		ActionOverride(Player5,LeaveAreaLUA("ARpsq2","",[3093.2752],1))
		ActionOverride(Player6,LeaveAreaLUA("ARpsq2","",[3093.2752],1))
		Continue()
END
The error messages are all in the form:
Invalid area string S:Area*-"ARpsq2"

This is the first time that I have used Near Infinity, so please forgive me if what I am saying is gibberish.  :D
If you could confirm or deny whether or not I am right to be concerned about the errors, that would be appreciated as I am certainly out of my depth at the moment.

Urgh, sorry for the delay, I tend to forget about this forum on the weekend.

I have *NO* idea what that means...... Adding those two lines shouldn't cause ANY errors, let alone what you are seeing...

Blargh.

Honestly, at this point, it might be better to just reinstall your mods..... (assuming you have a backup of dialog.tlk and your override folder, I'm assuming you do) and install PS early....

I'm not being terribly helpful am I? -.-

Those errors could have been there already. Indeed, they could come from another mod. As I mentioned, this is the first time that I have ever looked at Near Infinity.

Anyway, thanks for trying. So long as it doesn't break the main game, I'll be reasonably happy.

I have found that the usual advice for maintaining a clean install is not actually very useful. It doesn't take long to install the game nowadays, it is the mods that take the time as you can't go away and leave it like you can when installing the game.

I think it was about three days with the mods. I might just try it out and see if it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Thanks again.
