fight with Jet'Laya's sister (with SCS installed)

I'm having a bugger of a time with Jet'Laya's sister. She has magic reistance, and becomes "ethereal." I'm only able to barely damage her. She eventually just disappears. So I'm not able to kill her and move forward with the plot.

I have SCS installed and I'll post on that forum at G3 also, but I'm not sure how much of this is DSotSC and how much is SCS.

Ideas what to do?

I know, but here it could be an issue arising from one mod or the other, it's hard to tell. I have no idea if David Wallace ever reads this forum. As far as I can see, it seems perfectly reasonable to post in both. Hopefully no one will :fish: me for it.

She goes ethereal repeatedly, and each time in a few moments attacks again. But eventually she becomes etheral and does not return. Gone for good it seems.

This happens at 5 AM. Is she coded to disappear at that time, maybe? She only appears at night right?

Kill her fast!! Before she goes etheral or after the first time. Get 2 or 3 (Jet, PC and maybe another NPC) protected from her banshee cry and then once the dialogue is finished kill her fast!!! Use oil of speed and haste spell to do as much damage as fast as you can (make sure the weapons you use can damage her)!

I ended up Ctrl+Y'ing her. Something felt either buggy or poorly designed with this encounter. Bottom line: She leaves before she can be killed, and you then can't find her!

I had my PC (hacked Kensai 6-Mage 6 multi) and Ajantis (Cavalier 7) hasted, buffed with potions, Death Warded, and wailing away on her. And they were hitting--I could see the damage the were doing on the action feedback. But the banshee remains 'barely injured'. I saw when I Ctrl+Y'ed her that she has 1149 HP. But they were rapidly getting in hits of around 7-20 damage for around a minute, so I expected to see some change from 'barely injured'.

Her Magic Resistance protects her from Couldkill.

Cloudkill should go right past MR...

Check for a MinHP item on her, and she probably has broken dialogue.

Yeah, something is wrong here. I've been advised she is only supposed to have 70 HP. My PC and Ajantis were hitting her furiously, getting in about 50 hits, at around 7-20 damage per attack. She should have died quickly.

I know those maintaining this mod probably want to keep it in its original state as much as possible out of respect to the authors. But I'm not sure how wise it is to have Ferium vanish permanently if you can't kill her within a turn or whatever it is. I guess it's 'realistic' in some sense that a banshee would simply disappear. But it seems to serve little value for gameplay purposes. If in fact her amulet is needed to advance other quests then it's not a good idea at all, imvho. I would consider revising this encounter.

She should not 'simply disappear'. She will move off to the North and East, seek her out. After a number (?) of times going ethereal she will hide (simply disappear) and should be back the next night. I know that is how she has worked in the past and should work currently.

Okay, thanks. I tried resting twice (until the next midnight) and after each rest went looking all over the area for her. I was unable to find her.

But if she is locatable later, if that's how it's supposed to be, then most players probably are not going to go to those lengths to search for her. (Nor should they. The most reasonable assumption then is that she has gone for good.)

Imvho it's questionable judgment to have it scripted this way. Just giving (one man's) honest constructive criticism in the interest of improving the product.

I seem to ahve got stuck with this one - the banshee got disappeared at 5AM and I cannot find her anymore (unfortunately I have no save to reload). Well, actually the banshee is somewhere because if I cast "detect aligment" it says "Banshee - Chaotic Evil" (this works also during daytime), but I have scanned entire map and could not meet her.
Is there a way to spawn her using console? Or just spawn that damn amulet of hers?
