I´ve done a new Installation of BGT, traing to get some Mods into it to have some new things to do, see, I´ve intalled the following order:
01 games BG-TotSC-BG2-ToB & new patches (26498).
02 german BG text-patch by mkracht
03 BGT 105b
04 BGT 105b patch (the BG1-2 transition)
05 BGTTweak_v7 (not all the options)
06 G3 BG2_Fixpack v6 (not all the options)
07 BG1 unfinished business v6_TutuBGT
08 BG2 D0QuestPack_v23
09 BG2 Unfinished business_v17
10 BG2 Tweaks v6 (not all the options)
oh, yes, and I use a german version.
A lot of modification. The game starts, then SOMETIMES crashes to desktop during char creation. It ALWAYS crashes to desktop during spell choosing for M characters. When travellign out of candlekeep to the area east of it, and then further on, you cant go anyhere because the map is the one from BG2 which doesnt show anything from BG1 (this one could be undone by some option in the mods, i remember, maybe).
However, is there any known problem in that installation order, mod compatibility, etc.?
I heared from some friends that Tutu should be better and less unstable than BGT. IS this true? What´s the best version of Tutu to download for the german version? Is the installation order as above then correct/possible?

Your installation should look like this:
1. latest patches for both games (Don't install ToB beta patch and DX8 Patch for BG1-TotSC)
2. Install Textpatch Final-A for BG1 in your BG1 directory
3. BG2 Soundfix
4. Textpatch v24 for BG2
5. BiG-World Fixpack (contains bugfixes for various mods)
6. BG2 Fixpack v6
7. BGT 1.05b and its patch or BGT 1.06 instead of both
8. BG1 Unfinished Business v6
9. D0t questpack
10. BG2 Unfinished Business v17
11. BGT-Tweak v7
12. BG2 Tweaks v6
If you want an installation guide complete with links to the required download sites, take a look at those from the BiG-World Project. Available in english and german.
Personally I prefer BGT and IT IS stable. In the past I had some CTDs (crash to desktop) while my party was in Beregost, but those seem to have vanished in the latest versions of BGT. Moreover BGT lets you experience BG1 and BG2 in a more seamless fashion.

BG2 Fixpack has a know issue with the "Familiar" spell description that is too long in French and German and crashes the game when on the character creation spell selection. This thread describes the issue and provides a workaround to apply before installing the mod.
An other workaround is to avoid displaying the spell description during character creation. It seems that some other part (notably the scroll description in the inventory) work fine with the same length though.

Like we recommend to use the "BiG World Fixpack" after unpacking and before installing the mods, so we recommend to use the "BiG World Textpack" if you play BG in German.
