Here's how it goes. You tell me a creature or character class/type (vampire, thief, Sauceror...err, I mean, Sorceror, etc.), a genre or "style" (steampunk, egyptian, Maori, Happy fun fun Wonderland, etc.), and an adjective possibly describing how the impression you'd like the character to make (sinister, suave, slightly but not quite disturbing, etc.). And I'll try to draw from your suggestions.
Just do me a favour and don't say "Creepy Egyptian Vampires"...I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling that that's been done before.

Seductive Italian Avariel.
And if you want to chase everyone out of the room:
Deranged American Minotaur (he goes crazy when he see me with that elf).
See, it helps not to believe all the stuff that philosophers spout.

@WeeR: That made me laugh. Especially considering from where the musical "Dance of the Vampires" is from. I think I'll enjoy this one in particular.
@Scipio: Priceless as always. I especially like the Avarial concept. I already have a good idea of how I'm going to draw this one, I think. The minotaur will be a bit more challenging, but that's not really a bad thing.
@Epantiras: You're right, mechanical things are difficult to draw. Perfect practice!
Keep them coming!

Oh dear gods, I have created a monster...
Meaning I love it! Keep them coming, I'll be on a day long train journey this Thursday, and it will be the perfect opportunity to draw lots and lots (I can't draw at home. I have too many things distracting me there. When I draw it has to be anywhere but home.).

Ohhh I feel the inspiration of drawing it now XD
Do you mind if I draw it someday? *IF* the inspiration survives, of course.

Sure, go right ahead. As long as you don't steal my own inspired-ness from my head, I have no problem with you drawing inspiration from here too.

I'm thinking Suave Steampunk Sorcerer or Priest.
Sounds good.
Any last suggestions? I have to leave 6 am (GMT+1) tomorrow, so if anyone has any more suggestions, please make them now, because I likely won't start my computer tomorrow morning.
Again, thanks for the help guys. I'll show you what I've drawn once I'm back from the Ostsee.

Or if you really want characters, you have your basic lightsaber-wielding robe-wearing jedi; or your scoundrel of a flyboy. (I'm not naming anyone! )
But if it's fantasy stuff you really want, I'll throw in my vote for the sorcerer with the mechanical unicorn!!

Does it have to be fantasy/Forgotten Realms'ish, or maybe you can do something sci-fi? Something KotOR'ish? Like the Jawas out in the Dune Sea (I like Jawas, I think they're cute)? Or maybe the trees of Kashyyyk? Or maybe the cold reaches of Hoth?

It should preferrably be something not too copyrighted, if you get my drift. This is after all going into my portfolio I'm going to hand in, and I basically want to prove that I can work with a few words and setting thrown at me and create a character design from it. I can try and do the Star Wars stuff later on, after my portfolio is done.
But it doesn't have to be a Fantasy Setting, it can be SciFi, or anything. Even Postapocalyptic goes.
By the way, even if I'm gone, feel free to go on suggesting. I might be able to log in to the Internet where I am going to, and also I will still work on it when I come back.
