Hi,

I have just recently discovered this bug:

In BG1 part, Minsc is issuing the Find Dynaheir in Gnoll's stronghold quest. You can also pick up Edwin to provide additional info and journal entry. Then the gnoll east of the Stronghold is providing another entry into journal. Once in the Stronghold, you have several options depending on who you have in the party:

- With only Minsc you can accept Dynaheir into party or let Minsc leave with her.
- With neither Edwin nor Minsc in party you can admit her into party or let her go.
- With only Edwin you can kill her, admit her into party, leave her be or let them fght each other and pick up/leave whoever survive.
- With both Minsc and Edwin in party you have same options as previous, but both Dynaheir and Edwin might die (or highly improbably both Dynaheir and Minsc)

If you let them fight and both Dynaheir and Edwin die, the quest does NOT end and gets stuck in the entry saying that you must find Dynaheir somewhere in the stronghold. XP reward for completing the quest (800xp) is nevertheless awarded correctly.

If entry reporting this end to the quest is not present in BG1 (which might be possible since journal was only linear), then it would be good if such entry was created to deal with the situation and more complex BG2 journall.

Wanted behaviour. I don't know if BGT itself changes it from vanilla game anyway ... may be some other mod (BG1 NPC Project?),

Tired of the same boring spawned creatures u face in BG? Try BGSpawn

I know and it is correct, but the point was, that journal is not reflecting all possibilities and thus the quest gets stuck in "current quests" forever despite it was ended by the 4th desrcribed option.

Certainly a scenario that I didn't really consider. In this case, does Edwin kill Dynaheir and Minsc kill Edwin? Does Minsc talk to the protagonist afterwards? If so, what does he say?

Yes, Edwin first kills Dynaheir and then Minsc kills him. Afterwards Minsc comes to protagonist and have a paragraph of speech starting with "NO!!! I have lost Dynaheir..." or something like that ending with the question wheter he could join the party again and honour the name of Dynaheir by fighting evil with protagonist. You have classic three options what to say to him. But the quest simply won't end in either case.

EDIT: Also Edwin does not use spells in this combat (altough he has combat spells memorized), which make him very easy target and thus in most cases he is killed by Minsc. Dynaheir does not cast either, but she does not have any spells memorized anyway so it would require to change her file.

Well the use of spells is quite difficult, because you'd have to check what spells Edwin has - which could be stolen from some AI mod or whatever. The NPC fights in BG1 were never that good anyway (others never worked).
