The "click for more bug" was happening when Morte asks annah abouth her accent and when annah says that thing about not wanting the Lady to hear them talkin about it (in the grace-annah dialog about annahs hair)...

It also occurred when annah asks grace "how many souls has she already taken to the abyss" => click for more => *FREEZE* and/or *CRASH*

Hmmm...?

I'll take that as confirmation that you DID see/hear the line "Oh, sizing up our necks for a feast, are you?"

In which case, I have no idea what's going on. I can't see any possible way in which the value of the Grace_Talked_Annah variable could still be 2 (it has to already be 2 to see that line, and Annah's line quoted above increments it by 1). And yet, it is.

Well, wait. Did all these errors happen BEFORE you reinstalled? Cause you said you can't find a save where it happens now. Obviously the files I'm looking at are post-reinstall. If the errors happened prior to that, well, I no longer have any way to check. At this point, I'm tempted to say "Looks to me like your reinstall fixed those problems". Not the crashes, but the weird repeating-banters stuff, at least.

It happened also two times after reinstall ("banter bug"), not just before, and that's the prime reason why I even bothered you with this thread and questions and bugs and all. But after the reinstall it has been (not counting the graphic glitches, they are persistent as is the sand in the desert :( ) much more peaceful than before (I think that formatting the system also has a part in this).

I just wanted to make you aware of this problem because I'm not sure why it happened and I thought that you as its creator should know of its existence if it ever happens to someone else (or is this the exclusive one-and-only case?). And of course to see if there is a more permanent solution for this bug. But it's ok. If I get my hands on the bugged saves or they happen again, I'll be sure to let you know.

Thank you very much for your time and help, I can imagine that all this was very trying :new_thumbs:

Alright, well, I loaded up your save game.

1. Immediately got her "Fell's studio is down here, is it not?" banter. Worked perfectly, no problems.
2. Went into Fell's studio and got the banter she gives there. No problems.
3. Traveled back and forth across the wards. Got lots of banters, including the Morte-Annah "accent" banter and the Annah-Grace "So how many souls?" banters. Pressed "Click for More" many times. No problems.

So, I'm afraid I can't replicate any of your problems :(

I know this doesn't really belong in this thread, but Qwinn, you mentioned Party AI is required for banters to take place... that really makes me sad, but does explain why I barely got any during my first and only run-through... It seems like a really strange design decision...

Is this fixed by the Banter Acceleration?

The Party AI is -only- required to be on if you install the Banter Accelerator. It wasn't by my choice. There was simply no other option to mimic the (somewhat broken) engine mechanic of triggering banters.

(If you are curious what I mean by "somewhat broken", well, the engine banters are pretty rare and it would take an ungodly amount of real time with the game up and running to get them all. Additionally, I suspect it is the cause of many recurring glitches that have been reported where you'd inexplicably find yourself unable to speak to some of your party members until you moved to a new area).

If your objection is that you want the banters but don't want the Combat AI, I foresaw this. While the Party AI is on, you can toggle the Combat AI on and off using the "T" key.

If your first and only playthrough was without the banter accelerator, then Party AI made no difference. You got as many as the original engine banter system is ever going to give you. If you barely got any... well, now you know why the banter accelerator exists :)

Thanks for the explanation and the fix! :)

Can't wait to load up PS:T once again when exams are done.
